Is a great school. We arrived to Denison 1 year ago from Chile and our experience in Denison High School is wonderful. Give thank to all team that hard work day by day, and for making our young people great., Long life to Yellowjackets!!!.

I attended Denison High School. The education in minimal and the students are not cared for as they should (in regards to both their physical safety as well as emotional security). The staff are questionable and often have biases that continually affect their teaching. The worst part of my experience while at DHS was the prevalent sexism and racism amongst the staff members as well as the student body. Truly a horrible experience for myself, my siblings, and my family members. I now have a child of my own and am actively searching for schools that differ from DHS in every way I can find.

I'd like it if parental involvement was more welcomed in this school. Few teachers return completed work for the student to review what they missed.

I don't feel like I learned as much in Denison High School as others did in their high schools. Denison High School is so focused on the state assessment tests! That is all I learned the four years I was there. How to take the assessment tests, study the practice assessment tests, be drilled by teachers on what the assessment tests will have on them, assessment test this, assessment test that... I understand the testing is important to determine if the school is doing its job. But it's not doing its job if that's all it teaches. That's all I learned. After my first year of college, I know I am ill equipped. I should have been taught so much more in HS. Sure Denison is nationally ranked because of its high scores on assessment tests, but at the cost of me being given a proper education. I will need to take some remedial courses to catch up on what I wasn't taught.
