When we chose Bement, we were looking for a school that would challenge our child academically but also help her grow as a person. What we found was even more than that—a community where teachers truly know and care about each student, and where kids feel comfortable pushing themselves in new directions.Since joining Bement, my daughter has taken up basketball—something she never would have tried before. The team trains every day, and they take their games seriously, but what stands out the most is the way she’s grown through it. She’s learning to work hard, handle wins and losses with confidence, and most importantly, enjoy the process. It’s been amazing to see her build resilience and discover the joy of competing as part of a team. What we love most is that every day at Bement is filled with art, music, sports, diverse cultures, and a deep sense of care for one another. We are grateful to be part of the Bement family and encourage other families to discover the opportunities this special school offers.--- Patricia Kung

Bement is a caring community that strives to meet the academic and emotional needs of each student. Our family appreciates the individualized instruction, small class sizes, and wide range of programming in both athletics and the arts. We feel so lucky that our three children have the opportunity to engage with such an incredible group of educators every day.

Bement has been a supportive and caring environment for our kids. The school went through a few difficult years with some misaligned leadership, but it is now back on course with a focused and dedicated new head and senior leadership team. The life blood of the school is the teachers, who really care and want to connect with the kids. The work is academically challenging and the school works hard to have many co-curriculars even though it is a small school. Overall Bement has an excellent reputation with secondary schools for producing well-prepared, high-character students.

We spent two years researched and visited three top schools for our daughter prior to her start with Bement. We chose Bement because we loved the all-around and balanced approaches, family feel community and great teachers. Three years with Bement now, our daughter still can’t wait to go to school everyday :-) . We love Bement teaches our daughter “Fly on your own wings”!

Both of our boys love(d) Bement. They always look forward to going to school each morning, and are so happy when they get home. The curriculum is challenging and the teachers and staff are amazing! We are so grateful for the way that they handled the pandemic, by keeping our children in school, but also keeping them safe! Thank you Bement! We initially became interested in The Bement School for its teaching of foreign languages in the Lower School. Yet, after our five years here, have watched our son mature in confidence, depth of character, and excitement to learn & attend school – from the cello to Algebra! We credit Bement -- its incredibly dedicated teachers, staff & community for teaching to the whole child and fostering a true sense of belonging in our complicated world.

Wonderful school. I appreciate how much time my sons get outside for recess and daily PE. Arts, language and public speaking are also a huge plus! Check it out. Wonderful teachers.

This school is first-rate in academics, sports, music, English literature, theater, foreign languages, mathematics, the sciences, & cetera. The classes are very small, and exceptional students--at both ends of the spectrum--are included. For instance, a child having problems with literature will be given one-on-one tutorials, whilst a child with unusual mathematical skills will find him- or herself in fast-track class with only two other children. If you are able to meet the financial commitment (Bement will do it's best to accommodate you) then this is your best option. Given the huge financial investment that the Pioneer Valley makes in its students' public education, and high socio-economic and educational attainment of our local families, our area's public schools are an unmitigated disaster. (I must exclude the K-12 Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School, with its highly ranked International Baccalaureate Diploma, together with the Performing Arts Charter High School, from this harsh, but realistic assessment--they are each superb public schools.) I wouldn't pay too much attention to the the one-star reviews. I believe that I know the folk involved, and they should feel ashamed by their disingenuous reviews: Their problem was not Bement's, but it was of their own creation.

Wonderful. In our experience, the best elementary and middle school education you can get. Challenging academics, and great co-curricular offerings in art, music and athletics. Absolutely worth every penny of the tuition.

Bement is a wonderful school. It is filled with the most compassionate teachers and staff. They will help you child grow into his/her best self. Any child who goes to Bement is indeed fortunate. If the tuition were doubled, it'd still be a bargain, for what you get

Bement is without a question the best money our family spends. We moved from an expensive town with high taxes which pay for the supposedly great public schools, to a town with low taxes and spend the money on Bement and it was the best decision we could have made. We now enjoy happy, focused, well-educated kids, which is much more important to the family than living in a nicer house with higher taxes and unhappy, stressed out kids. Bement changed not only our kids but our enjoyment of life as a family.

Exceptional in every regard. Staff is completely professional but warm and caring toward the children. A first class, well rounded education.

Incredible. This school transformed my children from immature and bored in public school to challenged, focused, and civilized human beings at Bement. The non-academic aspects (arts, athletics, manners, respect, etc) are just as good as the academics. I wish the school went all the way through grade 12.

The "one star" reviews here look like they were all submitted by the same disgruntled person. Go see for yourself; the school is remarkable and the kids graduating are happy, healthy, and academically excellent, and they go on to do amazing things.

Awful. Not worth the money. Not worth the overseas trip. They work hard at creating a false positive image. Their admission process is very biased. Zero stars.

I have been a student at Bement for 7 years and basically, it's my home. The teachers, students, and faculty are so supportive. Everyone cares about everyone else like family. Bement has taught me so much, academically, and socially. The teachers are brilliant, they know how to make learning fun to a point where I actually look forward to math class everyday. Bement teaches you so much about the world around you and it's great that I get to have special bonds with people who live half way across the world from me. Before I started Bement, I hated all sports because I was horrible at them, but at Bement, it doesn't matter if you're horrible, all that matters is that you're learning and having fun, and with Bement's help, you won't be horrible for long. It's sad to think that now I have to wait all summer for my next math class. If I could rate Bement 10 stars I would, because 5 doesn't capture how much my classmates and I truly love Bement. End note: I would like to thank Bement for teaching me to be a good writer. Without that, this review would be horrible. I hope you seriously consider Bement, because there's nowhere i'd rather be then Bement, my home for life.

Excellent core curriculum with demanding courses. Hardworking students in small classes with qualified faculty. A supportive. even "nurturing" environment.

Loved the school. My kids have adjusted quicker than we have expected. The school cares about education but is not hyper competitive. It provides a healthy and personalized environment that let each child discover his/her own talent.

My son had the most incredible experience and education at Bement. When we looked at high schools we were told over and over they would not have enough curriculum for him because he was so far ahead academically. Any school is what you make our of it. My son was an excited and motivated learner who ultimately skipped high school and is enrolled full time in college and already excelling. He is more prepared than many of his older classmates, and I'm sure that is all thanks to the amazing staff at the Bement school. Again, any school is what you make of it.
