I did not understand very well the labor concept of administration and administration. So not much can be said about this center. Being a substitute here is not easy.

Graduated from this school following the 2022-2023 school year. In all my three years of attending Olsen Middle School, I absolutely dreaded the methods on how they ran the school and how little involvement there was for the promotion of academic performance and accommodation. An overwhelming amount of student behaviors were horrid to witness. Namely, altercations are normalized among this school and very few disciplinary action is taken place, disparagement against teachers, blatant discrimination and prejudice based on harmful preconceived notions against other students of certain sexual orientations, students engaging in sexual intercourse/drug consumption (keep in mind that Olsen is comprised of junior-high aged students) in bathrooms with by oblivious incompetence of security personnel. I’ve witnessed substitutes and teachers break down and proceed with quitting because of the major issues here that immediately need to be addressed. To add another thing, the curriculum (which primarily relies on memorization and not retaining any reliable information) is dumbed down to fit the standards of students who perform way below average in terms of grade level measures, The magnet-program is very lackluster and laughably horrible in practice, and truancy is very common among students. Not to mention the special education program here is horrible and there is very little support. As a former student coming from personal experience, I absolutely do not recommend this school due to negative influence mainly originating from student behavior and how abhorrently destabilizing and chaotic the environment is.

In an all-inclusive manner, it was a school of unadulterated mediocrity: the school building was architecturally mesmerizing, and the preponderance of the teachers and staff were affectionate and magnanimous. This institution, on the other hand, has had several deficiencies that may be problematic to comprehend. You are arbitrarily authorised to patronize specializations that are unsuitable for your priorities, and there are students who consistently cause such uncivilized controversies and dilemmas because a significant portion of teachers and staff are argumentative vexatious, and full of authoritarianism, entrepreneurial to acquire their own remuneration and equitable treatment. To contextualize, this school is pure vanilla material: I do not recommend going to school because of the undisciplined and combative children, discourteous staff personnel, and abusive supervisory whining.

Went to Olsen Middle School 17 years ago when it was an "A" rated school and properly ran. Do NOT send your kids here, they learn absolutely nothing. The front office is always in disarray. You have students compulsively cussing right in front of administrative in the front office, which not one word was ever said to any students doing so. They will have teachers fill in "Z" (as in zero) days before an assignment is even due to show what will happen if you don't do your work. With COVID-19, they presumed my son had it wouldn't allow back as protocol, teachers were aware and refused to take off zeros the days he was protocoled to stay home; it required principal attention who said she tried explaining to the teacher he was out but wanted to argue about the grade. Not sure who really runs what in the school. Bullying is the worst, son shoved, things stolen like folders for school, and notebooks ripped by other students. The school admitted it happened with hope scholarship form and then retracted the story the day I went in for transcripts with a final notice by brushing it under the rug as not effecting academically or happened off campus, which was a lie altogether. My child makes good grades and is high test performer, held honors classes. Naturally they lose funding and tried to trap him in there, the moment I informed them he's leaving by hope scholarship. Luckily for me that one form they sent the first time before retracting was able to get my son out of there and approved of scholarship money. I am extremely happy my son is leaving. Every single day there is multiple teachers missing, that apparently the substitutes cannot even take proper attendance on. Homework is non-existent, and most teachers won't update a grade for weeks at a time or are behind schedule. Honestly, I can see why the kids are they way they are and run that school there is zero oversight of leadership. The day I went to withdraw my son, some child in the school had called 911 and police on campus had called it off knowing which student did it. The school is out of control and should be investigated from the top down! The leadership is zero, I personally had to attach teachers to emails because, the administrative never notified any teachers of the bullying whatsoever so they could keep an eye out. The best day of my child's life was when I ripped him out of a school that will soon be on the "F" list. I repeat take the option of school choice and take your kids elsewhere.

One out of 10 I would give it a one because all we do is sit on computers I haven’t seen any real real work it’s just stupid I wouldn’t suggest sending your child here unless you want them to lose their eyesight and not to the learn anything

Horrid school. I was a former student and they do little for their students. Bullying was an often sight and teachers usually ignored it. Not to mention there were many gangs well known within the school and it's student population. Teachers also did little to push their kids to really reach their potential. Very lazy and the curriculum was dumbed down.

This is the worse school my children have attended. The administration is phony and uninformed. They have completely failed to support my son who is an ESE student in general education. He has a diagnosis of Autism, and the teachers have no clue what his capabilities are. He's been placed in Advanced level classes and we've asked that he be placed in the easier level classes. He has little to no supports even though his Previous IEP had push-in support. He's failing core subjects and the teachers are blaming the student and us as parents. I have been complaining and requesting other school options and the Broward school district does nothing. This has been a horrible experience. We were requested by the Principal to attend a parent teacher conference and not one teacher showed up!!! These people have absolutely no respect for us as parents. Futhermore, there are a lot of fights, and my son's cell phone was stolen out of his bag. They're always having Code Red and Code Yellow emergencies and they don't inform parents of incidents, lying stating that it was just a drill. Be careful with sending your boys to this school.

This school is a 10 in my book, all day & twice on Sunday! My daughter is ESE and we have been down a very bumpy and lonnnnngggg road finding the right placement, to me its all about the professionals that staff that right district. Mr. Shaw has been teaching for 30 years and really knows what he is doing, my daughter LOVES him! *tear* I can tell you from the bottom of my heart that all of the admin at Olsen Middle really is TOP NOTCH as well! They have not missed a beat with ANY member of staff either...I felt good vibes from my very first contact the day we moved into the area and it has been a wonderful year ever sense. GREAT JOB OMS! *applause*

The school is being run by a wonderful and hard working principal and staff, but most of the students lack caring parents. The parents don't attend P T A meetings and they support the school poorly. The population of the school is mixed so it's clear to me that this lack of caring is a general behavior common to all the racial classes and socioeconomic positions. It takes a village to nurture kids and it is evident the parents are not doing their part. I am a parent.

This public school is nice in every way and form,But the school doesn't know how to tolerate and discipline kids. You wouldn't want your daughter or son to have relationships and not focus on education this is what's happening at this school. The kids want to fight other kids, more students are talking than less students that are listening to the teacher. some teachers are yelling at kids and making them do push is wrong instead of sending them to the office. The kids are also skipping class in the bathroom and they don't check every 10 or 20 mins to make sure nobody is hurt or skipping . Some kids are doing drugs bringing it to school is very often. SO, DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILDREN TO GO TO OLSEN MIDDLE SCHOOL ?

My school is an exciting place to learn. The teachers care and give all of us a chance to improve our grades as well as our behavior. The assistant principal Ms. Ortiz is a GREAT influence on us. She is preparing us for the real world, she is dedicated and hard working. My first year at Olsen was really difficult. I had multiple problems and Ms. Ortiz was always there for me. She has patience and the ability to work with students in a way none of the other teachers or administrators can. There all kinds of activities and groups for everybody to join. Olsen middle has many opportunities for your child to develop. An Awesome Olsen Student.

I attended Olsen Junior High 1959,1960,1961 and 1962. I had Mrs. Looper in 7th grade social studies. Mr. Lerner for science. Music was Mrs, Bailey. Pencils were two for nickle at the school store.
