I cannot say enough great things about the caring and supporting staff and faculty at Clearspring Elementary School in Damascus, MD. The teachers, specialty teachers, and office staff and faulty all go above and beyond to show their enthusiasm for learning, and teaching students core values of being respectful, responsible, good citizens. The PTA is also great, and offers several events throughout the year that engage with the community and provide a social space for families to interact.

We had a horrible time at this school and I finally pulled my child out for private school. I've never seen a school with such a lazy administration. Student needs are not met--as long as the students are hitting benchmarks on state assessments the admin is content. They don't care at all about the social and emotional needs of their students.

Administration and Main Office staff show favoritism and there is a lot of underlining discord with faculty. Also, lower level teachers aren't very pleasant to the students. I wouldn't send my child to this school. Teachers scream at minority students. I've seen it many times. High-level teachers (GT) are wonderful and dedicated to their craft of providing an excellent education. However, the administration needs to replace several teachers in the lower grades.

Excellent school in every sense of the word. My child is in the 4th grade GT center and we have nothing but praise for the teachers and the curriculum - Ms. Klein, Ms. McGinn, and Ms. Marrama. All are top-notch in every respect. The music teacher - Mr. Anberg - is fun, knowledgable, creative and a great teacher as well. The office staff is hard working and dedicated. The school grounds are more akin to a high school in size and facilities. From my perspective, I'd say that anybody fortunate enough to get into Clearspring GT center, or Clearspring in any class at any level, would mirror my responses.
