Before writing this review, I took a look at the older reviews to get a sense of what to write. I noticed that some of the negative ones stem from places of pain and disappointment, and I can understand their perspectives. For our family, Pinecrest Academy has become a home. We've been part of this community for several years now. Four of our children have graduated, and we still have two attending. Initially, we had no idea what to expect, but we were immediately impressed by the warmth and manners with which we were greeted, even when we only had one child at the time.Even though my husband and I attended good Catholic schools, we never experienced Christianity as fully applied and lived out through serving others. We weren't challenged or felt as cared for and loved as our children do at Pinecrest. I just asked my daughter about her experience, and she said, “I can talk to a teacher, and they always try to help and find a way, even if you have a personal problem.”Our school welcomes students from all kinds of backgrounds, but we share similar goals. Children at Pinecrest go through the typical growing pains, but they also experience the joys of growing up. The difference here is that the staff is dedicated to giving them the tools and support they need to overcome challenges and feel truly good about themselves. It's like planting a little seed that grows and flourishes.Academically, Pinecrest is strong. Three of our children went on to very competitive colleges, such as WASHU and Georgetown University, and were accepted to many others. Unlike some public schools where your child might not be able to participate in all the sports they want, Pinecrest offers more opportunities for involvement in various activities. There are also many formative activities for the whole family if you choose to participate. Pinecrest Academy has truly been a blessing for us, and I hope this review helps you in making an informed decision.

Best school for your precious children! The students are surrounded by so many loving and tender hands. The staff and faculty live and breathe a culture where every single child is loved, nourished and educated by the best of the best teachers. Our family is so blessed to be a part of the Pinecrest family. May God continue to bless all the staff, the faculty and above all our precious treasures from God( our children).

I am grateful for the education I received here, and that my parents sent me here, but I have a lot of mixed feelings about my experience. There were many incidents of students getting away with things because of teacher and faculty favoritism - especially for families with popular names or money. Students with cultural, political, or religious differences were often socially outcast. Lots of cliques and rumors at this school, and if you don’t have money or desire to go on the big trips, faculty will try and convince/pressure you into going. I also had no formal reproductive education, so I didn’t know or learn about certain parts of the body, or about consent, until I got into college. Also, if you’re a girl, teachers are zeroed in on you for uniform or conduct violations, while boys often get away with anything. Girls are taught to be nice to the boys at all costs, even if they’re being mean or bullying. MAJOR double standard between boys and girls classes when I went here.

My son enrolled in Pinecrest during the 7th grade, and our experience has exceeded our expectations. The academic curriculum is both rigorous and comprehensive. However, what truly sets this school apart is the diverse range of extracurricular opportunities it offers. The band program has opened doors to numerous experiences, the tennis program is exceptional and every member of the administration and staff not only recognizes my son, but also demonstrates a genuine and outwardly caring attitude towards him. Pinecrest also does an amazing job of fostering a solid sense of community among the students and families.

Best investment ever.’We have had many years of experience as parents at Pinecrest. We have several alums in our family. Pinecrest Academy has consistently offered us the education model and the community that supported us in raising each of our children to be mature, caring, strong, faith-filled adults that they are today. Everyone works as a team - teachers, coaches, campus ministry and staff, to ensure each child has the best opportunity to grow- academically, yes, but humanly and spiritually too! Highly recommend Pinecrest…

We couldn’t be happier with Pinecrest Academy. Their teachers, management team and overall teaching and support staff! We are grandparents who also value education and the teaching of good family and religious values. We find the student population to be hard working, respectful and future outstanding community citizens! We are blessed to have our four grandchildren attend Pinecrest!

This is hands down the best school academically in the area. The teachers are outstanding, and the expectation is very high, but the teachers are patient and will help your child get there. I've seen a huge improvement in character in my child and I am pleased with the families and friends. 10/10

We have two children who are very different, and both love Pinecrest Academy. Our experience has been great from the perspective of both children. We have the "rebel without a cause" who was very much against going to the school as a freshman, but after about six weeks, his talk of truency and transferring stopped. He has engaged in athletics and clubs, and it something he has found fullfilling. He is still the same kid, but kinder, more polite and more considerate, in large part because of just how much he has enjoyed his experience there. While still not a huge fan of school work, he has adjusted his focus more to his future and has progressed from on level to honors to AP classes in the subject areas that interest him. A great experience for him, and a the school has made him a well rounded person, who is kind, honest and good. Mentoring by the faculty staff and the upper classmen has made all the difference. Our other child is much more introverted, and is apprehensive socially. He likes, books, computers and animals and is very smart. He would not be out of place on "The BIg Bang Theory". He has succeeded accedmically, but socially he has been accepted completely by his peers. He now plays sports, joins clubs and looks forward to seeing his friends at events at the school. Maybe it was his time to blossom, but compared to our experience at the public shools in the area(which are themselves pretty outstanding), the difference is night and day. Pinecrest has become an important part of his life and I dare say an extension of his family. Stidents and teachers alike care deeply for each individual child, and look to help enrich their lives, and continue to mint exceptional people who are genuinely caring and kind..If there is a downside, it is teachers use different platforms for communications and homework. This has caused somethings to slip through the cracks when it comes to assignments, While the multiple platforms can cause some confusion on the part of parents and students, it is truly much more like a college experience, where professors have their own idiosyncrasies in how they want to teach. The kids need to learn to bridge gaps in communication as a life skill.Pinecrest Academy has been a great find for us. Moving from the public schools to PA has been a jump from good to great and would recommend, without reservatrion, for anyone, any child, to check it out and see if it is a fit for you.

We are very pleased with the outstanding academics, administration, and teachers at Pinecrest Academy. We looked at all of the schools in the area for our daughter and have been very happy with our choice to go with Pinecrest for our daughter's education.

We currently have 5 kids at Pinecrest (6th, 4th, 1st, K, and PreK 4). We have been here for the last 6 years. Pinecrest has been a blessing for our family. We want a school that can help us bring the best version of our children, and Pinecrest has the best faith formation. We love the staffs, the teachers and the families. Thank you for all you do.

We are a brand new family to Pinecrest this year, having brought our son from a Forsyth County public elementary school to Pinecrest for Middle School So far we have been very happy after our first semester. It was a little bit of an adjustment, but our son has settled in nicely. He has had a few minor issues here and there with kids, but that's going to happen at any school. Nothing major that he couldn't handle or that the school didn't immediately address. He regularly reports good experiences with his teachers and staff and overall enjoys being in a smaller school setting. Our son has had to work a little harder, I think than he is used to since he was a little behind when first starting at Pinecrest, but has caught up for the most part. His grades have drastically improved and he is starting to feel more confident everyday. We are happy with our decision. The entire school has made us feel very welcome.

Do not believe everything you read about this school. Staff was asked to write reviews to try to help get new families. Many reviews have been written in the last few months. Enrollment has continued to drop every year for the last 4 years. This school frequently gives preferential treatment to children of staff members and a few specific families. Very discouraging if you are not a family with the right last name. Pinecrest does not invite diversity into their population and the academics leave a lot to be desired. Once leaving this school, I learned that my daughter had fallen behind in core subjects. The high GPA's that come from Pinecrest are because they know bad GPA's reflect poorly on their reputation. There are many good private schools in the area, this is not one of them.

Wonderful experience because you know the teachers, staff and administrators genuinely care for all students and want to not just educate but to form them to be successful in life!

Poor Leadership and school is Highly mis-managed, with many families leaving for better run catholic schools in the area.

We have comfort in knowing that each of our children are known and loved by their teachers and they feel safe and secure.
