This is a hard review to write because while we had met with many wonderful caring administrators ant teachers, the school tries really hard but does not meet expectation because this district is just plain awful. My son is significantly behind in many areas BUT because so many kids are behind, my son got less help due to lack of resources. Coventry School Administration is heavily involved and easily accessible. Teachers are caring and wonderful, but they are extremely understaffed in the support areas (paras, SPED staff). Special Education in Crystal Lake is awful, it starts at the elementary district D47 and continues through D155. They had 3 special education directors in 4 years. . Unless your child has a visible disability or one that causes class disruption, you will have to fight for any and all services. In this district Ds get degrees so if your child could do A/B work but still gets Ds & Cs, they will not assist your child in getting help that is appropriate. Hire an advocate & an attorney now if your child has dyslexia, ADHD, ASD, or any other invisible learning disability. While Crystal Lake is one of the best districts in McHenry Cunty (that doesn't say much look at the others) I cannot recommend any K-8 school. The high Schools are a different district and are much better. If you can, do not move to this district, if you have too live in Crystal Lake, move to the Woods Creek or West schools. If you have a child with any special needs, do not move to McHenry County.

The teachers and support staff are amazing and caring individuals. The principals are outstanding. I have 3 children at this school, and I could not love it more.

This school creates a toxic environment for bullying. They do a great job of smoke and mirrors when you first start. They put on a good show but there is no support if you have a child with disabilities or any recurring issues. They will fall on deaf ears. The PTA and their children are more valued and will be protected and favored.

One of our kids went here K-5 and our other is currently a student. We have been very pleased with the administration and the teaching staff. Each of our children needed a little extra help and had IEP's. The staff was fabulous in providing that needed help and the communication was excellent.

We have had an amazing experience with all facets of the school...from the leadership, to the teachers and counselors and support staff.

I love this school. The principal and his staff are always working hard to make our kids enjoy their time and be safe and taken care of. I can't recommend this school enough to my friends and family. My daughter loves going to school and has always admired the staff.

Horrible, I wish I would have moved my child out of this district sooner. These teachers and especially the principals do not care and have a great way of acting like they do. They don’t have any effective ways of handling situations and there for your child will be the ones constantly blamed for it all

Coventry Elementary is a very good school. I just think they should offer more extra curricular activities.

I extremely disagree with the parents rating this school and wanting to give it a zero!! Nothing in this world is perfect by all means. Both my son and daughter attended this school and couldn't have had a better experience . The principal, teachers and the rest of the staff down to the janitor were attentive, caring, helpful respectful and loving and I thank them all for that. Elementary years leave lasting impressions and I am proud to say that they both will always remember their years here. I will be happy sending my little one to kindergarten here next year. Everyone should remember that education starts in your home. If you raise polite respectful and happy children that will shine through in everything they do and wherever they go and their experiences will be pleasant and memorable. Thank you Coventry School!

My son and daughter both attend Coventry and they love it! The teachers my children have had here have been extremely attentive, encouraging and educated. They keep me up to date with my children with weekly classroom news, informed about the details of each subject being taught and let me know if they seem to be struggling in any areas. The communication is wonderful. We are taking advantage of the duel language classes that are offered here. I feel it will be such an advantage for my children to be bi-lingual and bi-literate by the time they are finished with 5th grade. I am very, very happy with the teachers and staff I have dealt with at Coventry.

I agree with the other parent. I would give zero to this school too. The teachers don't care about the children. They only care of work their hours and they are not willing to work after or before school with the kids. They never return your phone calls or e-mails. I'm not happy with this school at all. I'm hoping to change my kids to a different school.
