The school environment has been very positive. It is a much better school than was expected.

At first it was culture shock going into the school, but after getting to know the staff (I work all the time) they were very personable and met my family needs by being in contact 24/7 when I wasn’t able to physically be there.

I attended Blossom as a kid and as a parent of a child who just finished 3rd grade, I'd say it's unfortunate that the property itself has issues, but I love the staff and the teachers. Blossom has been amazing for my son's education and has really reinforced values such as respect, responsibility, and many other core human values.

My daughter has excelled under her teacher here. Not too happy to see the Principal yell at children a couple times now though. The food is horrible but easily overcome by sack lunch. The encouragement she has gotten from her various teachers and therapists are why the great rating though. Glad we spent a year here. If you come to the area and wonder which schools are better... Coos Bays schools were it for us. North Bend's superintendent has serious issues and many people locally have tried to get her removed. She only cares about the money the district gets for each child and nothing for the children.

I was kind of scared, sending my kids to a knew school since Bunker hill closed. I had a great communication with the staff at Bunker hill. But know that my kids have been at Bloosm Gulch I'm way more comfortable with the staff. Cris and Jenny are great they do a very good job getting to know each and every student and they show they care, and the teachers they gave my son lots of different testing and put him In a class where he gets the help he needs and he has inprovide in his reading and writing by the end of the school year he was able to read a book alone and actually knows how to spell. It's a great school. Thank you so very much for all your guys hard work ..

This is the first year where they combined Bunker Hill School (which was closed) with Blossom Gulch and another elementary. My son attended first grade this year. We are so impressed with how well he is doing here. His teacher is fabulous! The office staff is very attentive and helpful and friendly. The principal and vice-principal are both hands on, greeting each child entering the school in the morning and standing outside at the end of each day to oversee them leaving and getting on the busses. I love this school! The only complaint I have is that the new four day school week is hard on the kids and the teachers. They seem to be under more stress. But the teachers seem to be working with it the best that they can.

I would recommend taking a hard look at test scores and parent involvement at Blossom Gulch. The school budgets are too small and the school too understaffed to really attend to creating an excellent learning environment. The principal is outstanding but the massive poverty and lack of parental involvement is a HUGE obstacles to overcome.
