Collierville High School was created to be a fantastic school, but those expectations have failed. The school is overcrowded, forcing students to shove each other in order to get to class. I have met very few teachers whom actually enjoy teaching, as well as enjoy respecting students. If you are not an outgoing, rowdy, talkative student, this school will not support you well. Those who disrupt class are favored while the few who actually want to learn are forgotten. Teachers do not care much for circumstances out of a student's control - they often judge before getting to know each individual. Harsh punishments are given where warnings should be handed out, and little is done to care for the mental health of the student body.

This school is a joke period. So sad when you have people standing at every entrance just to document tardies, they don’t care if it was raining or not and they compare it to getting to work. But at work your getting paid and actually enjoy your time as your getting paid…worst comparison ever. Instead of worrying about Tardies we should focus on the other excessive amount of students that failed first quarter due to terrible class placement and counselors who don’t take their job serious enough to help the students in a decent time frame. Principal is a complete suck up and this school skims money for ID tags LOL. Seniors aren’t allowed to take culinary classes after sophomore year, instead the freshman are first up for their class selection when it comes to career related classes. They’re changing next years schedule to block schedules and taking away the only senior privilege outgoing seniors had which was (early checkout). Glad I’m graduating this year!! Being a senior is like being a freshman all over again, how does that make sense!!

My experience at Collierville has been great. The teachers are pretty efficient at teaching, ensuring the proficiency of most students. Leadership seems to do a good job running the school as well. CHS employs a very strong counseling program for students and has programs for different problems that students might have, although whether if students are affected or seem to care for the programs is up to debate. The cafeteria food is more-so average, but good. There are only occasional/rare instances of bullying or fights in the school. However, there have been instances of many students having participated in somewhat destructive or dangerous activities, but it is rare. Collierville especially excels in its extracurricular field, offering hundreds of clubs and programs for students. The overall environment of the school may however seem mundane, but the school itself is kept clean and has a huge but simple architecture. Homework can sometimes be overwhelming, so it's important to not procrastinate and set up a schedule at home.Overall, Collierville High School is a very great school with efficient teachers, leadership, and counseling. It is at least average in things like cafeteria food, overall environment, and homework, although it excels in extracurriculars and its budget, hygiene, and architecture. The town of Collierville itself is a very nice place to live with a quiet and safe environment as opposed to Memphis, even if housing prices are high. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend that parents should take their child here if they're looking for an excellent high school (and other schools as well) in a safe, quiet, and polite community in West Tennessee.

I can’t believe i loved all my teachers this last year it was the first actual time every single of them were so nice that i missed school, overall the school is really nice and mostly all the people but they don’t give many opportunities of being leader of groups or sports?? i tried many times to get in, in some of them and it’s very competitive. I love my art teacher Ms. H she’s the best one!! and another things is that some people won’t talk to you like you have to work really hard to have friends which is sad

the equipment is great but the students are treated more on par with prisoners. Administrators have no issue with punishing kids for the littlest of issues as apposed to actually talking a situation out and instead demean the students on a scary level (i.e. getting in their face, yelling, name-calling, fits, ect.)

It is a good school, but there are definitely aspects that can be changed. Many of the teachers resort to telling students they aren't good enough when things go wrong, and there is obvious discrimination from students against different races, religions, and sexualities. The school also needs to come up with a better support system for students with mental illness.

I would like to compliment the administration and staff at CHS for building a legacy that is everlasting. Through any changes that take place, this school runs like a well oiled machine. For some, who make negative comments, I challenge them to work with thousands of teenagers on a daily basis. CHS is an amazing school and a very high performing school nationwide. For those looking for a outstanding public school education, CHS is the best of the best. I currently have 2 children who are greatly involved at the high school and I am beyond impressed with the programs, AP class offerings, extra-curricular activities, and so so much more. Mr. Blanchard is very approachable and has been so instrumental in promoting Collierville as "classy" instead of "trashy"; as a parent, I appreciate that greatly. I acknowledge him for a job well done, in addition, I applaud his staff and counselors for knowing their students by name and always giving time both during the school day and after to play an important role in their lives. As long as you follow the rules, which it seems those below with negative comments do not, you will see that your child will grow leaps and bounds at CHS. It is a wonderful place to be. We love our DRAGONS!

Collierville High is a mess. The new administration does not care about kids - they are in pure survival mode. Principal Blanchard doesn't listen and is a bully. This place used to be great, but unless they eliminate Blanchard, they are going down hill. Don't send your kids here. They pretend to have great programs but the staff and counseling care very little.

An incredible experience at this school with teachers that prepared me incredibly for college coursework. Could not have asked for a better high school education to prepare me for the world beyond graduation. Any negative reviews of this school need to be taken with a grain of salt. More than likely these folks had a rare bad experience and are looking to tarnish and otherwise sparkling reputation as one of the best schools in the state.I will say that to get the best teachers, students should take Honors or AP classes. If you believe that your child cannot handle that coursework, put them in a few of those classes to test the waters, because the level of care and attention kids in those classes get is definitely worth it. The Honors coursework is definitely challenging, but from those challenges comes immeasurable growth both academically and personally. As a recent graduate, I highly recommend Collierville High School, and with the new facilities being built in the near future, this school will be looked at with envy across the country.

New administration came on board in 2012, and they are doing an outstanding job with this school. The academics are challenging, the number of AP classes offered is higher than any school in the Memphis area. Although most students are on a college track, there are offerings for other areas like cosmetology. The class of 2013, with fewer than 500 had 7 Advanced Placement International Diploma recipients 44 Cum Laude Society members (CHS is the only public school in TN with this distinction) 11 National AP Scholars, 46 AP Scholars with Distinction, 26 AP Scholars with Honor 76 AP Scholars and 1 US Presidential Scholar candidate. Athletics and the arts are strong. The PTSA is active and involved, great communication through Facebook and Twitter. This is truly a great school.

This school continually distinguishes itself from the pack. They recently became the only public school in TN with a Cum Laude chapter. This process took 10 years of looking at the top 20% of students. They encourage the kids to take the most challenging classes that they can, while offering other avenues and support for kids who need extra help. Great extracurricular activities as well. The block scheduling implemented in 2010 has proved to improve learning even more.
