The best I've ever had with a school

This school is very lacking in communication with parents, though it seems they're working on it, they just started sending calendars home with students, that highlight what's going on for the month. This just started recently, the school year is almost over. There are no school performances, no award ceremonies (they get awards sent home in their backpacks), no open house nights, or days where students can show off their projects, etc. There's not really any school spirit, they don't have any kind of rallies or events other than a few holiday ones. I don't think it's a BAD school, teachers seem to be doing what they can, but we are on the search for a different elementary school.

I love how safe the school is - located in a neighborhood with a fence around and not near main streets. Has a very good layout and has a lot of activities for families. My son is in 2nd grade and has very nice teachers who communicated with me easily all year round. They worked with my sons ADHD and never made him feel bad about it.

My son was transfered into the Pre-K program a couple years ago. He had behavior problems and other learning disabilities. The teachers and therapists were always patient and kind and gave my family understanding into his problems. I never felt alone. He is happy now and thanks to the teachers, he can communicate effectively and has friends. As a family, we can go to the library because he knows what to do there and how to act and that you need a quiet voice. We can go out to eat as a family and WAIT, because as a classroom they waited until each student received their meal before they started to eat. There was daily notes to parents about their day, except for WED.. the shortend day. The teachers really believed in your child. The sad part was that I wasn't so sure that the school's leadership always belived in them. It is a clean and safe school that tries to have "extras" for parent involvement but without making a school fundamental, you can't make a parent get involved, show up or give. Good Job Teachers and Therapists.
