The sense of caring and community at Schalm is evident from the first time you meet with staff and parents there. Each child receives individual attention, and I feel like all of the staff - even the secretaries and janitors - know my child and genuinely care about him. My son improved a lot academically and in social-emotional skills during his DK year. I feel good about sending him to Schalm everyday!

Though we were only able to be a part of the Schalm family for one year, it was by far the best one we have experienced overall as a family, yet. Our daughter enjoyed her time there, the education she recieved, the friendships she formed and is very excited to continue playing the violin through middle school.

The previous principal was PHENOMENAL. The current principal is doing well filling the very big shoes she had to fill. The teachers are caring.

I love Schalm School. All of the teachers my kids have had were excellent and my children love them. The principal is very involved and knows all the kids by name. We are extremely happy with Schalm School in Clawson.

Schalm elementary school is a great school. From the parents, to the teachers down to the principle who personally places each student with a teacher that meets that child's needs. It is the best school in the city and I will be sad when we leave.
