SUMMARY - This school is NOT for minorities or a diverse population - the principal, counselor nor 1st grade teacher handle diversity appropriately.1 PRO - Secretary and 2 of the recess helpers/aids were a joy!4 CONS - 1) School principal and the school counselor have shown us to not know how to interact with African American parents/students. Principal confused me with another black parent & then tried to apologize saying we both had on similar tops. Profusely she apologized knowing she was confusing 2 minority parents by our color. Counselor has unfortunately treated us rudely in her talk and interactions with us.2) School/parents are very clique-ish, especially apart from minorities. For 3 years I've been involved & volunteering. I volunteered for recess duty for months & suddenly was dropped off so that the scheduler’s friends could have "their" preferred days.3) 1st grade teacher (had our 3rd grader & now our 1st grader), did not treat our minority children with respect. Our 1st grade daughter has African American hair that enamors the other children. Her hair accessory fell out & another child had it. The 1st grade teacher threw it in the trash at her own admission because it was a distraction to another child. Why not save it for the parent instead of destroying personal property?4) Principal never replied to my e-mail regarding a mishandled situation of a computer screening, taking 1 child's word against ours. Our African American child was interrogated and his computer was screened 3 times. Our child was found to be WRONGLY accused. There was no punishment for the child who falsely accused. 5) There were bullying incidents on our child with with 2 separate children. However, all teachers that our son interacted with told me how mannerable, polite and helpful he always is. However they did NOT appropriately deal with the bullies who harassed him.WE TRIED FOR 3 YEARS TO HOPE FOR IMPROVEMENT. The school failed in this effort to treat our children fairly. As things have gotten worse they show to not provide a secure environment for our children.

We came to St. Vincent Ferrer as transplants from another school that had closed so I was hesitant to get comfortable at a new school. I tried very hard to not fall in love with SVF but it had everything that our old school had - small class sizes, close community feel, all the programs my older son needed, an all-day pre-kindergarten for my youngest, FANTASTIC teachers and a friendly cast of parents. The school is diverse, yet we are all there for the same reason and come together to reach the same goals. Both of my boys are so happy to go to school and are making lifelong friends (I am too). In addition to being a great school, the faculty has gone above my expectations to maintain a clean and safe learning environment during the CoVID19 pandemic. They offer both in-class and virtual learning to ensure that each student is getting the learning they need and are comfortable with. And they are still finding ways to introduce "normal" activities into the day for the whole community.

I put my family in a SMOKE and MIRROR situation. Do not send your children. Teachers are passive and there is verbal bullying going on at svf. Staff is very passive with parents and your children info is not private. Gossip girl environment. Staff says offensive things about students all the time and when corrected they get angry and passively do it again. If your child had any special needs your out of luck because they push them to the back burner, several children from my oldest wont be coming back to svf next year because of that.

I enjoyed my K-8 experience at SVF. My son just began Pre-K this year, and is enjoying his experience so far.

I could go on for pages about what an amazing school St. Vincent Ferrer is! My children have been there since Kindergarten (my oldest will soon graduate), and there are so many amazing opportunities that they have had.Mrs. Roy, the principal, is very committed to the success of the school, and has made many great improvements in her time there (including the planning of a preschool to open in fall of 2017). I cannot speak highly enough of her accomplishments and interactions (and screening process for students).This is a small school that has an inclusive atmosphere which allows kids to excel. Those who tour can't believe all SVF has to offer. I encourage you to see for yourself!

The school has had 3 principals in the last five years. Currently the school is more concerned with filling seats than addressing bullying and the treatment of students by the teachers. I would never recommend this school to anyone, there are too many schools to pick from for this to even be an option. The principal Mrs. Roy does not address issues, she is very dismissive. She came from Cardinal Pacelli, check out those reviews and see what was said about her.The students are not vetted, meaning, hey if you can pay (or voucher) come on in. The kids have discipline problems, parents are not involved and absent. My advice is don't do it.

I have been very fortunate to be able to teach at St. Vincent Ferrer for the past 28 years. Not only is this a great school, but it has a family atmosphere which makes teaching and learning fun for all. The staff and students interact across grade lines. Older students read and enjoy crafts with younger students. Electives give students choices of non traditional classes once a week. Our ownTV program, produced and directed by the Junior High, gives us daily reports about upcoming events and special reports add interest and knowledge in non school areas. Come and visit. Your children will be glad you did.

My daughter is now in the 6th grade and has been attending St. Vincent since Kindergarden. The school continues to get even better year after year. Her teachers challenge her, yet are completely nurturing. There is an extremely close familty feel which makes it easy for me as a parent to give tme volunteering. I recommend this school to anyone. I would also like to add that although I am not Catholic, Catholic education has been the best choice for my child.
