Consider a private school if it all possible. This school is in a steady and serious decline as indicated by the various metrics found here. The school is more interested in uber left, woke culture indoctrination than it is in education. Walnut (maybe) or private school is your only hope in Cincinnati.

It's a great school!! My daughter is able to take advanced classes that are interesting. She also gets to do field studies that I'm sure will transform her life (camping, hiking, going to SpaceCamp, traveling to France...)

My son has flourished in his first year at Clark. we are very happy with the teachers and the help he gets.

All 3 of our children have gone to Clark and done well. I take issue with many of the negative comments, as being subjectively based on the experience of one or a few students. Rather than rely on these cryptic comments, I urge you to: schedule a tour, ask to meet with the principal, talk to parents with children at Clark and/or the students themselves. Go to the Clark Montessori website and review the information available. Attend events - concerts, plays, athletic events. Get an idea of what it's like to be at Clark.

I put one star so that people would read this. First I would like to say that there is a new principal at Clark and he is a nice guy. Secondly, do not let the bad reviews of the former principal Rupa discourage you from seriously considering Clark as a future high school for your child. It is a great school that does have its good and bad things about it

Absolutely terrific. Clark is a great place to send your children, because, if nothing else, Clark will provide a comfortable leaning environment for all types of students, and does its best with the things it has. While I agree with the fact that there are definite imperfections about Clark, most due to the fact that we do not have parents of students that are tripping over themselves trying to throw money at things, no one is willing to move forward and discover/experience the new Clark. Things are definitely looking up for Clark. I hope that more people, students, teachers, and parents alike, begin to see that.

Pulled my son out of Clark and moved to another high school. Teachers unresponsive and not customer friendly, office staff not helpful, Principal Rupa is just terrible and the kids starting to come in at Jr. High are NOT what I'd expect at Clark based on its past.

Thank God Rupa has been pushed out. Pity. Problems aare overwhelming at Clark, especially at 7-8. Types of kids entering and old teacher methods (inflexible) is a bad combo. Rupa has created a culture that does not value diversity in what is a very diverse school. Dont let the door hit ya in the buttoks!

Clark Montessori is a wonderful school! It hosts visitors from around the world (Australia, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Canada) and across the country each year. The emphasis is not on standardized testing, but it is not ignored either. The school is in a new GREEN building, and looks forward to bringing back it's chickens and bees, as well as small gardens.

I am a parent of a seventh grader at Clark Montessori and just bought a house to stay in that school district. My child had a very serious issue with a teacher. The principal has handled things in a very unprofessional manner. Given the fact that we have many more years at this school I can say I totally regret sending my child here and buying a house to stay at the school. It's very important when issues arise to have good communication with the principal and that's not what your going to get. Be prepared to be ignored. My child passed the test to go to walnut but at the time we really felt that Clark was a great school. The teachers have been great but again when issues come up and they always do you have to be able to trust and communicate with the principal and I can tell you first hand you will not get that with the current principal. I'm in the process of now finding my child another school.

Both schools have high academic rigor. It just depends what atmosphere your child will work best in. Walnut Hills is traditional, while Clark adheres to its Montessory philosophy. I knew my son would flourish in the Montessori environment and he is in tenth grade at Clark. He was in traditional schools prior to that and did okay but partially because I was always checking up on him. That is not the case now. He is genuinely interested in his assignments and grades.

We are debating between Clark and Walnut. It is a tough choice. Any input is appreciated. We see the positives. I am hoping to hear the negative points, the things I do not see. Thanks
