This school has what's most important to any school. The facilities, teachers, test scores, adminstration are all top notch. But what really sets Hyde Park School apart are the parents. HPS is a wonderful community chalked full of parents who care. They are good people, who raise good people. I feel very comfortable with my kids peer group at school. They're all great kids. How HPS has such a low score is baffling. Great Schools' rubrics are clearly off. I was a little hesitant about it at first. We thought we would have to send our kids to a private Catholic school. Now I'm so glad we didn't. We seriously couldn't be happier with HPS!

Hyde Park School is an amazing community where parents, teachers, and admin work collectively to educate the whole child. The school culture is inclusive, responsive, & respectful. The teachers are caring & go above & beyond to meet the needs of each student through their personalized learning approach. I have been extremely happy with our experience at Happy Hyde Park!

Wonderful! Hyde Park School is so great: academics, sports, extracurriculars, social events, parent involvement, friendships, and happy children. HPS was great from day one, but it somehow managed to just keep getting better and better!

We are a family with two children in the Cincinnati Gifted Academy Magnet portion of Hyde Park School. The school is ideal for our children. They are academically challenged and socially happy. The principal is wonderful and the staff is enthusiastic and engaging. The parents are very involved in the school.

As a family that lives walking distance to this school, we couldn't be happier with our choice to send our children here over a private school. The class sizes are small and the principal and staff are fantastic! There is a high level of parent involvement and the community is nurturing of all the students and their families. If you are considering this school I highly recommend you take a tour to see for yourself.

Everything about this school is fantastic, except for the transportation. If you are considering this school, and live on the West Side, you need to know that your child may spend 3 hours a day on a bus. Some children are picked up as early as 7:30 a.m. for a 9:15 start time. Even then, the bus is quite often late. It goes all through Cheviot, Westwood, Price Hill, Saylor Park, and God knows where else, gets hung up in rush-hour traffic, before it finally makes it to Hyde Park. Dismissal time is 3:45 p.m. My child was dropped off sometime between 5:00 - 5:30 p.m. I now drive him the 15 miles each way, rather than put him through this. I have complained to the school, the bus company and the director of the transportation services. The director was going to "check into it" and " get back with me." That was 31/2 months ago. I'm still waiting!!! I have concluded that because they are children that can't speak up for themselves, NO ONE CARES! I believe that the Cincinnati Public School Board made a huge mistake by not putting a school for the gifted children in a more centralized location.

We are probably to new to be rating this school. It's only a few weeks into the school and our son is a first year student to Cincinnati Gifted Academy. We are happy so far, but make no mistake, they expect these kids to work. The work load is more than expected, but we are still happy we decided to send our kid here.

Excellent school in the heart of Hyde Park just off the square. Reopened in 2012, houses the neighborhood school and Cincinnati Gifted Academy.
