A great school, both academically and morally. The principal of this school is the most responsible I have ever seen, the teachers are very enthusiastic and patient, and the entire school has a positive ethos. The principal will help direct traffic every day and organize a make-up commute day on Saturday. Organize various competition activities and regularly award certificates to encourage children to love academics. The school has a large number of sports activities and various sports competitions every day, so that students can give full play to their talents.All teaching concepts lay the foundation for students to go to college in the future. This is what parents have been waiting for!!!

As parents, it's often challenging to find a school that checks-off all our "wants" and "needs" for our children and rate what constitutes as a "good" school as it can be so subjective, so here's my perspective of what Eagle Canyon Elementary embodies...When we first arrived to this school, we found the enrollment process to be smooth. Front desk staff responded quickly and processed the paperwork in a speedy manner. They're not the friendliest or chattiest batch, but in their defense, they deal with A LOT of challenging parents.A recurring scenario you'll find at Eagle is the teachers and support staff screaming at children (e.g., "Don't run! "Stop!" "Listen!" "Sit still," "Focus!"). Their approach to handling behavior is archaic and revolves around practices that don't align with best practices (e.g., behavior charts, benching children, withdrawal of recess, punishment, demerits). The faculty and staff are in dire need of educating themselves in appropriate guidance techniques, professional development on brain research and developmental theory. In that regard, you're child will come home with hoards of worksheets (10-15 a day). This takes no creativity, no careful planning or effort, as worksheets are the lazy teacher's approach to "teaching." It's clear that this school's focus is on the 3's (writing, reading and arithmetic) and the drill and grill curriculum that leads to mindless rote memorization. There's no meaningful learning here, as everything is taught to the test and this pressure to perform will kill your child's motivation to want to learn and come to school. Add the piles of homework assigned each week (10-15 pages) which research suggest over and over again that there is no correlation between homework and academic success, and you've got a group of administrators and educators who are not well versed on educational practices and pedagogy that align with research. The principal, Ms. Bearden, approaches the mighty task of educating children around the carrot and stick approach. EVERYTHING revolves around rewards and punishment. She's an authoritarian whose only goal is to shape our children into complacent little beings. Eagle Canyon kills passion, crushes creative thinkers and children who challenge the status quo. If this is what a "good" school is, then Eagle is for you. But if you want your child to be creative, think critically, be motivated to learn and develop into a decent and empathetic human being...Go elsewhere.

My child was punched in the stomach by another student and the principal was incredibly biased and decided that the child who attacked my child didn't do it based on the attackers statement.My child's stomach hurt for 3 days from being punched and the principal & staff did not care and forced my child to apologize! I've never felt so disappointed in a school. My child was bullied & physically hurt and nothing was done, I even messaged the Superintendent Enfield and he did nothing as well. Please, listen to your children & ask them every day how their day went & always advocate for them even when a school's principal does not care or does not listen. My advice is to document any type of bullying going on in this school and to advocate for your children especially at this school. My child has also stated that he has greeted this principal and she doesn't greet back. She reminds me of politicians, they smile for the public, lie and behind our backs won't help when it is needed. Please be careful with all the BULLYING and lack of attention going on in this school, shame on them for the trauma they are causing to children. Overall, Eagle Canyon is One of the WORST schools I've seen, poorly ran & incredibly rude principal, not to mention the office staff as well. I moved from a different city to enroll my child at Eagle Canyon based on the GreatSchools.org rating for this school. I am very disappointed to say the least.

This school is amazing! Eagle canyon students are all very kind and have lots of wisdom. Grades has improved really quickly at Eagle canyon, not only grades but behavior too. I 100% recommend this school!

This review is specifically for Special Ed parents. My daughter is in the Eagle Canyon Mod-Severe Autism Program with Mr. Martinez and two aides, Mrs. Alessandra and Mrs. Amber. My daughter has been in this program/ class for about 5-6 months now. She has had a great experience in this classroom thus far, and so have I. The aides and Mr. Martinez truly care about their students, as a parent, this means a lot to me. The staff at the front desk and the principal are also very kind and professional. My daughter feels included, her IEP is being met with the help of OT & ST. The school is always clean and safe. I definitely recommend it!

I want to say thank you to my son's first grade teacher , Mrs. McGuire. She keeps us parents updated daily on our children's progress. The Principal Mrs. Warners , the Assistant Pricipal Mr. Reger and Staff are great! I love this school.
