Deep Creek Central Elementary is an outstanding school! The teachers are truly wonderful—dedicated, caring, and always going the extra mile to ensure each child thrives. The school creates a warm and welcoming environment where students feel supported and excited to learn. The staff is attentive to both academic and personal development, and the community spirit is strong.Additionally, the sheriff on staff is incredibly kind, and our children really liked her. We always felt very safe knowing that the security team was there, keeping the environment secure and peaceful. The family engagement events were also a highlight—they were fun, well-organized, and gave us the opportunity to get a firsthand look at the classroom and meet the friends our kids talk about. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Deep Creek Central and highly recommend it to any family looking for a top-notch education and a safe, nurturing environment for their children. They also provide support for active duty military families and that has been great for our family.

Regular education was ok. Special education was terrible. Has great staff but terrible leadership.

Military family that moved to the area in 2014. All 3 of my girls attended DCCE and I couldn’t be happier. Great staff, love all the fun events, family involvement events, and overall a great education for them all. My last two girls started there in Kindergarten and even with moving we made sure to stay in the same zone because they didn’t want to leave the school.

My daughter just “graduated” from DCCE. She had a great experience with all except one teacher. The Principal, Dr. White, always listens to the Parent’s concerns and is a great addition to this school. I’m excited for my son to attend Kindergarten this September!

This was my daughter's first yearl in Chesapeake schools second grade. My experience unfortunately it was not the best. Communication with the teacher was very difficult. The teacher was very sweet but had way too many students for her to handle and you can tell. They say the student ratio is 20 to a teacher and this case there was 26 students to one teacher. The front office many times were rude. They speak to you as if you were a student and not a parent. This school is only good for kids that naturally thrive have no issues. If you have any child with any mental physical or emotional problems this school is a not a good school for you. And nowadays it is very common to have one of those three issues. Summer school is not offered to all children they're limited to two per classroom so if your child is the third child they will not get the additional help that they need. I also have talked to the principal personally emailed him. In the beginning of the school year my daughter was sick for just about the first semester. In and out of school constantly getting sick. Received an email from the principal saying my daughter missed too much school and that it was going to be a problem. Obviously if he took the time to check he would knew that my child was constantly sick and in the hospital and in the doctor's office. Overall School does not have good relationships with parents and students. I was highly disappointed. I thought with moving into the neighborhood that we live in, that the quality of education would be better.

We have loved DCCE for the last 5 years! Every staff member and teacher we have interacted with has been so wonderful and supportive. They know my children and our whole family. We’re grateful to how they handled virtual learning and supporting our kids through the pandemic and how they welcomed them back with open arms when it was right. DCCE is a school full of people who really try to do their best for each child and family that attends. We love it!

Despite being 130% capacity because the school board will not rezone, and the school that was supposed to be built at Culpepper will not be built due to inequitable $ distribution, the teachers and staff work exceedingly hard to provide a quality education for their students. Three bathrooms for nearly 800 students, 27 year old carpets that school plants will not replace and that the PTA is slowly having to do with parent money that could better be spent on enhancing student learning, technology needs not being met by CPS, many portables because of overcrowding from the lack of planning for infrastructure needs by City Council, etc., and yet the school has always been accredited AND the gaps Great Schools says exist are not there when you look at 2018-2019 SOL data.

Deep Creek Middle School is a breath of fresh air. The administration, staff & teachers are all amazing to work with. We were one of the families rezoned in 2018. They have far exceeded my expectations and my son loves Deep Creek Middle.

My experience at this school has been awful. My special needs sons needs were not met, instead he regressed. I believe a school and the child's parents are one team, this time that wasn't the case at all!

What can be done about school bullying? Telling the teacher does not stop the problem. My granddaughter comes home just about every day crying because some of the girls at school treats her unfair. Is there another step that needs to be taken about the situation?
