Very good school! We love the Principal, teachers and staff. Ms. Meredith Bermema (2nd Grade) teacher is one of the best teachers we’ve ever had. I have 4 kids that goes to school and Ms. Bermema is one of the best. I feel and see that she really cares for her students. She takes time to really check on them to make sure they understand. Also, my daughter became so much more confident and happy in school (reading, math, etc.) since she started with Ms. Bermema. She’s always excited to go to school and always excited to do her homework. We love Ms. Bermema.

"STOP DELETING MY REVIEW!!" This school is by far the WORST school that my children have ever attended. It was nothing but disappointment & stress. If your child struggles with any kind of disability then this is NOT the school for them. They made endless threats in regards to ruining my husband's livelihood. They call social services all the time. If you don't agree with them or do exactly as they want they go into attack mode & will do everything & anything they can to try & control the situation. We are Military & my children have attended other schools prior to Cedar Roads & I have NEVER been so disrespected. They want to control every aspect in you & your child's life. I'm big on being apart of my child's education & development & oddly Cedar Roads does not like parents being so involved. I'm not sure why because in my experience if parents can work together with the school & staff then your child will have a better chance of success. Sadly, this school cannot handle special needs even though they provide classes specialized for children who struggle. I moved here because of this school & it was nothing but a letdown. They give up on your special needs child very easily & become very frustrated when things do not go their way. They also try & send your child to SECEP if they no longer want to deal with your child. This happened to my oldest son, not even a month after he started attending Cedar Roads. My oldest has a diagnosis of Autism amongst other things & they honest to God did not want to help my child. If your child cannot score high on their testing then they don't want your child at their school because now your child is bringing down their school rankings. My youngest has autism & they tried to put him in a mental hospital, "WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE" because he was having an anxiety attack from sensory overload. Also, know if your child has an IEP they DO NOT follow the IEP & will do whatever they want to do. They have an excuse for everything they do wrong. This school is terrible & obviously has social services on speed dial. It's disgusting what they will do to try & gain control of a situation, even if they have to attempt to ruin you and your child's life in the process. I "WILL NEVER" recommend Cedar Roads because of the mistreatment from teachers & staff. I now fear the worst & keep my guard up with any school that my children now attend.

Hopefully things get better, or it will be private school again.

This has been a fantastic school experience. I volunteer in the library once a week then have lunch with my daughter. I am a complainer. I would let you know. But I have nothing bad to say. Note- not all of the 5th graders at this school go to the same middle school.

My daughter has been attending for 2 years and adores her teachers and staff. I won't name names but the security guard at the front is a big gentle giant with all thechildren, he makes her feel very safe.

For whatever reason, my previous post was deleted or reported. I agree with the March 2014 parent regarding struggling child. Last year our experience was horrible, but this year the complete opposite. So, I guess it all goes back to the personality or effectiveness of the teacher. This school acts like its a magnet school and the majority of emphasis is placed on exceeding other schools in SOL testing and less emphasis on children developing and being kids.

Cedar Road Elementary is a wonderful school with caring staff and teachers that go above-and-beyond everyday. My first-grader started school at a beginning first grade reading level and is now ending the year reading at a third grade level! All of the teachers we know in the school have been at CRE for years and love what they do. The PTA is very active and regularly provides additional scholastic and recreational programs for the students. We also appreciate the overall feeling of community in the school between all the students from Kindergarten through 5th grade.

Overall friendly teachers and staff. However, If you have a child that struggles sometime in their learning experience, don't expect the appropriate help, nor detailed communication. The teacher will take serious action without involving the parents. A frustrated teacher means a bad experiences for the child and parents. disappointed.

I love this school. My kids especially love this school which makes me happy. They have had wonderful teachers and the parent involvement is amazing! I'd pay extra for a home in this area for the school.

We moved to this area 10 years ago so our oldest could start kindergarten at Cedar Road Elementary. She had the best teachers and was very prepared for Middle school. Our youngest is now in fourth grade and I'm as happy with his education as I was with hers!! I highly recommend this school if you are trying to decide where to live in order for your child a great public school experience and education!!

I love CRE! The school surpassed my expectations of public school. I am glad that they have not conformed into the isolated model of schools today. The employees are happy, sincere, and still care. God is still touching this schools heart! I was surprised that for Kindergarten my 5 year old was behind because he couldn't read site words and such starting out. By the end of the year he was fine, but I had only taught him letters, numbers, how to spell his name, colors, and shapes. I apparently was delusional about the requirements of todays youth. I do not like that the primary focus is on SOL scores and not learning for the long run. That is more of a state wide problem than a school specific issue. We had no problems with violence or unruly children. This school rocks!

Ms Powell remains to be an amzing teacher. She was my daughters teacher in 2007-2008 school year. She is now my sons teacher and she is simply one of the greatest teachers of all! Great asset to Cedar Road Elementary!
