I am a parent of two students in first and third grade. I have been incredibly impressed with every teacher we have had. They have each shown integrity, fantastic work ethic, excellent communication, classroom family community, empathy, accommodations/flexibility, and quality teaching skills and strategies. My girls have always loved going to school and have enjoyed their teachers and teachers’ aides. They feel safe, important, cared for, and consistently want to be present. The out-of-the-classroom staff is amazing as well! When you enter the office you are welcomed and listened to. It doesn’t matter if it’s office staff, teachers’ aides, coordinators…each one will turn their attention to assist you. They are super helpful and kind. Aside from some necessary building maintenance I am pleased with my girls’ experience and growth at this school.

I am a single father of twin girls. My daughters have attended Chatsworth park elementary since kindergarten.I am nothing less than pleased with the teachers and staff. I am a older man and not to familiar with computers and this new math that they teach. Anytime I had a question or needed help understanding their assignments. I reached out to their teacher and they responded quickly to assist me with my issues. My daughters are twins and with that being said they were often in different classes. It made it a little more difficult on me, but it’s not about me it’s about their education. I understand why they separate siblings, co-dependency , not always the case especially with my girls but never the less I understand and respect the schools concerns. Both my daughters are in the gate program Gifted And Talented Education and always brought home great grades. Which shows when parents and teachers work together the children benefit. When my children started this school we were in another school’s district, because of the great things I heard about this school.I pushed for them to attend something I do not regret,in short I recommend this school for future students.

My child was an English learner when he transferred to the fourth grade, so I was a little worried, but thanks to the support teacher for English learners and his classroom teacher, he passed the test. We were blessed with supportive parents and staff, and we had a great time in the fifth grade. I think robotics and ballroom dancing are the most notable features of this school.

Transferred my kids out before we had to get to upper grade. I am done with the horrible administration and the quality of teachers. We for sure were not going to be subjected to the upper grade teachers after hearing so much about them. We are DONE! The admin do nothing to help out.. Have to rely on parent involvement or you will get nothing. LISTEN to the things you hear about them.

Horrible upper grade teachers. So glad we are finally out of that school. We weren’t lucky to have the new upper grade teacher. They don’t care about their students and are preoccupied with their own stuff, bad character from them. No support. She’s terrible. Principal turns a blind eye to everything going on there.

Faculty doesn’t have a backbone to enforce rules. Parents usually do as they please, like park in the handicap spots in the parking lot actually having a disability placard . Children bully each other without mercy. Woodcraft Rangers is 1 or 2 kids for a herd of 40+ children. Very hard to control. They school itself is more interested in attendance than the actual health and wellbeing of the children. They sit them outside during their monthly morning assembly at 42 degrees. They “encourage” you to bring your kid in even with a gnarly cough or snot. The attendance counselor yelled at little kids crossing the street to hurry up because they where gonna be marked late. Never mind crossing the street safely! Being on time is what actually matters in this case. I further witnessed a teacher screaming at a kindergartner from the top of their lungs to put a toy back, in the tone and at the decibel only a guard at prison would speak to the inmates. Some staff is rescuable. My kid has hated every minute here, and so do we. If this is your local school and your only option I feel for you. Run as far and as fast as you can.

Kindergartners are told they will loose recess time if they use bathroom during class. Both my 1st grader and kindergarten reported being forced to remain with head down on table during quiet time. No respect for children’s bodies at this school.

This little school USED to be amazing! When our last principal Mrs. Ratner was here (she left 2021) it ran beautifully, she brought the community together between parents, teachers and students. She knew every students name and family. Her energy was infectious. We miss her. This new principal Mr. Garringer doesn’t engage at all, he won’t even respond to emails, terrible! The curriculum is fast paced and engaging. Most of the teachers are wonderful - there’s a couple that probably should have chosen a different profession. After school care - lacks staffing and professionalism.

This is the most amazing school! It's truly a hidden gem. Classes are small and the teachers/staff collaborate with parents to provide an excellent learning environment. It's ethnically and economically diverse, with curriculum emphasizing the importance of equity. My child has some special needs and they are beyond accommodating. The new principal encourages parent involvement while supporting student success, despite whatever hardships may present. Robotics, art, music, science, and history programs are rich at this school. My only complaint is that the after school program Woodcraft Rangers has poor staff and fails to address issues when brought to their attention multiple times. Their staff has called my child annoying/stupid/dumb. However, it doesn't reflect my overall experience as I believe they are separate entities?

The school used to be great but ever since the principal Mrs. Ratner left the school has gone down hill. The 2021-2022 was a disaster. Many of the staff abruptly quit. One teacher decided mid-year to take another position leaving the students with subs for months. Once they finally received a teacher is was someone with absolutely no experience. This teacher then gets COVID and instead of the school providing the students with a substitute to continue learning in the environment they are used to, they decided to split the students up and pack them into different classrooms for weeks without any notice to the parents. The operation of this school no longer has our students best interests as first priority.

Amazing experience! My oldest daughter attended a Magnet school which has great ratings. I did not have a great experience due to the lack of support she received from her teachers. Chatsworth park works with each student individually to ensure their specific needs are being met. The school staff is welcoming and the principle knows each child by name. I couldn't be happier that my son attends this school. Test scores alone should not be enough to make a school great.

Don't judge a school by it's test scores. This little school is fantastic! My child transferred here in 2nd grade from another school in the Valley. He was made to feel so welcome! Mrs Rattner is an absolute gem of a principal!! She is so warm and inviting to everyone! We are starting our 3rd year here and couldn't be happier! I highly recommend this little school in Chatsworth!

I would rate it a 4. I think there needs to be more teacher outside and more t.a.'s available to assist teachers. I also wish there was more shade and more parking for parents. especially when we need to just run in and drop something off at the office.

My experience at this school has been extremely positive. It is truly a hidden gem! We have an incredible community where families are encouraged to get involved and participate in our children's learning experience. My children have made amazing progress at Chatsworth Park and I have been very satisfied during the 3 years that my children have been there.

I came to Chatsworth Park Elementary looking for a safe haven for my son who had experienced severe bullying at another Elementary school in the TK program. Not only did Chatsworth Park Elementary staff and principal help me in orchestrating the change but my experience has been nothing short of amazing! The staff, the curriculum, special events and school spirit has been what I expected and wanted for my son’ first experience at school. He has learned so much and he continues to be excited about going to school and this is due to the environment and staff at Chatsworth Park Elementary. We are going on our 3rd year here and can’t wait to see what that entails. We are proud Palominos!
