Don't allow the 10 score to fool you. The school may have a decent curriculum & teachers, but none of that matters if your child's safety isn't a priority. Chapin Middle (grades 7-8) is not a safe environment for children, especially if they're not perfect or popular. Bullying is a HUGE problem in this school and throughout the Chapin school district, which has yet to be remedied. My children and many other kids have been emotionally, verbally and physically bullied over the years. My son, who is on the shorter side, has been been subjected to relentless bullying due to his height among other things. He has been made the target of constant verbal & emotional abuse regarding something completely out of his control. Physical attacks are the daily norm from being pushed & punched, to having hair ripped out by the roots, to needing multiple stitches. The administration and its employees do NOT take bullying seriously. They prefer to quietly sweep it under the rug in order to protect its 10 score.
