Poor leadership means poor academics, low standards, and empty promises. Principal Pramenko is a failure of a leader who does not take responsibility for her lack of accountability. Mobs of parents have tried to get her fired from the School Board and they still have her there. So sad. Not a school I would EVER recommend in the Denver area.

Many of the teachers at Arapahoe are great. They allow for corrections that truly support learning rather than just grading. The science department is amazing. The math department is not as good. Counselors are generally unresponsive and very rigid in their rules. Students' individual needs are not considered. The administration is mostly concerned with their image and testing results. If kids are struggling, they often suggest moving to a different school over making it work at Arapahoe. I have had multiple kids go through Arapahoe. Things have been worse since Covid. My child has had 4 different schedule structures in 4 years as have the teachers. I think it has been very hard on both. If you are a high achieving student it can be a great school for you. You will find plenty of good teachers. If you are an average student, or someone that needs a little extra help, it is not the place for you. The other LPS high schools do a much better job with that.

Quality teachers, effective leadership, and an energetic student body was our experience at Arapahoe. It is a comprehensive school with opportunities for all students to succeed. Teen years can be tough. Counseling department has been proactive in meeting community needs. Overall - a positive experience can be had if parents and students choose to be engaged in the educational experience.

This use to be a great school with a great principal. Current leadership appears to be concentrated on their next political career. Some great teachers but alot of recent turnover.

I have had a great experience at Arapahoe High School. My teachers are more interested in helping me learn the material than in what grade I get. They often offer chances to rewrite papers or retake tests and are very willing to spend time with you when you need extra help. It is a big school and easy to feel lost. Joining a club or activity can help with that.

As far as learning in the classroom, this has been a good experience for my student so far. However, my student's negative experiences have all been with the athletic department and specifically a few coaches and administrators.

Wanted to send my younger students here but it seems like the athletics are no longer ranked in the top ten like they used to be (Highlands Ranch Schools consistently out rank this school in nearly every sport). I understand they recently changed principles as well. Of course, this is not an indication of good or bad but I know from other parents that the previous administration took a no tolerance approach to bad behavior and drug use. The deciding factory was when I saw students smoking pot in the parking-lot across from the school. Perhaps its just a few bad apples but after seeing other parents dealing with this it seems like its more than just a few.

I love going here, all the negative reviews are so wrong. They are singling out the bad groups of kids to represent to overall school which isn't fair. We love our sports as Warriors so if your kid is into sports I really recommend going here. We also do have great acedemics here too, there is a reason that AHS is in the top 30 best schools in Colorado! *Cough* And also above Heritage by a spot *Cough* But make sure your kid never forgets, "Warriors always take care of one another"

n my view this school has seen decreases in overall academic performance and most certainly in athletic performance. I believe this is, at least partially, due to a huge Marijuana prevalence taking hold in this school. I hope the school will focus on this problem, encourage the kids to overcome and show them they have a lot going as sober members of the community. Used to be a great school to send athletes to "get noticed" but they are not top ten in any big sports any more. The culture used to be athletic focused and now it seems to be a drug culture focus.

I find it telling that many of the negative reviews I saw before have somehow been removed. You can tell by the dates of the 5 star responses denying the school has serious problems. This school is a perfect fit if your kid comes from a Christian right wing home and /or they are heavily into sports. There is a huge amount of intolerance for anyone other than that. They have no LGBT or alternative groups unlike most other high schools in the area. The administration bullies parents and kids alike. The counseling dept is understaffed. The school is broken from within. Check out Heritage or LHS if you need to be in LPS.

Fine for athletic students and those who need no educational support. Those who struggle are treated with punitive, not supportive measures. The teachers are by and large caring and competent. The administration and counseling staff are unresponsive. My guess? Good scores achieved by making life so miserable for the struggling student and family that they choose to go elsewhere.

Arapahoe is an excellent school all around. It is not solely a "sports" school as previously stated. This is a school un-like any other HS I have ever experienced (that # is 3). The academics, availability of teachers, and counselors is ouststanding. The school has a welcoming feel, and the students really do care and lookout for one another. Admin is always friendly and helpful. I really cannot say enough good things, even after the horrible event that took place 12/13/13. Way to go Warriors! We are extremely proud to be a part of this amazing family!

This is more than just a school to many people who attend school here. It is a place I can call my second home. Our athletics are amazing but our school is not based on the athletics like other reviews have stated. Our academics are even better. The scheduling we have at our school makes it very easy for students to go in and get help from teachers. We definitely have some of the best teachers in the state. All of the faculty here at Arapahoe High School are outstanding and I wouldn't want to go to school anywhere else.

Arapahoe, class of 2009. Excellent traditions, phenomenal teachers, great classmates and students, great parent participation and an overall excellent high school. I highly recommend this school to anyone. They offer vastly numerous diverse programs to include all walks of life. From sciences, leadership, music, art and on to athletics, this school achieves great marks in all of the categories. The only thing that sucks is trying to get out of the parking lot after school....that is one thing no one likes. Go ARAP. 09 so fine. Oh, and Arapahoe has had both Presidential candidates visit, as well as POTUS....AND it is still a Blue Ribbon school.
