This school is terrible. I went to this school through the years of 2022-2024. I had terrible experiences here, the kids are stuck with the same teacher for every class besides specials. Kids are also very rude including staff. The principal is joke and is nice but gives terrible advice, and punishments.

We only spent one year at this school but I have to say it has been fantastic! My son with an IEP was treated just like the rest of his peers, everyone loved him and treated him with such kindness! No bullies or anything, in fact he had handfuls of friends who looked past his disability and treated him like a friend! All the teachers here are extremely supportive and helpful. They make sure all of the students are getting treated fairly and they make fun creative ways to teach! Everyone there has been so thoughtful and amazing to my son, I couldn’t appreciate and think of a better staff, group of kids, or overall good school! 10/10!

I have recently moved my kids from another school to Hopkins and it has been the best decision. Both my kids have exceled sense being here.The staff and principal are amazing, communicates frequently and are very helpful.

I have to children at the school and we have had nothing but good experiences. This is our 5th year at Hopkins and my children have made great friendships with other kids, and have learned so much. They come home telling me about all the things they are learning, and they are always excited about it. The teachers truly care and work at building relationships with the students. My children feel important, and love their teachers every year. I have always been welcome into classrooms to discuss how my children are doing. I have also been in the classrooms during the day and have seen lessons in action - everyone is always engaged and having fun as they are learning. Hopkins has some great activities outside of learning as well; my children's favorites are the Halloween Dance, the Spring Dance, the Fun Run with another elementary school, and the Talent Show. So glad we have a couple more years left at Hopkins!

I came to work at Hopkins after working several years in Wyoming. I have been overwhelmed at the great supportive faculty and administration. You do not often find such a welcoming group who really believes in focusing on what benefits students. I was also extremely pleased with student behavior, there is a great focus around building a positive learning environment. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this team.

We moved into the Hopkins neighborhood this year and we feel like we hit the jackpot! My son is a 2nd grader and my daughter attends the preschool. The teachers and staff are caring, friendly, and happy to be at the school! Every family we have met has been so welcoming and kind. My kids have made some really great friends. The school does an excellent job of teaching each child at their current level, and trying to raise test scores without stressing the kids over it. We moved from one of the top schools in Denver and I hands down prefer hopkins!!!

Hopkins is a small community school located in Centennial Colorado. Teachers believe that all students can learn and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs. Current school goals focus on improving reading and writing. Teachers participate in collaborative learning opportunities including Professional Learning Communities which meet ten times per school year to discuss student achievement, assessments, work samples, and instructional strategies aligned to State Standards. Consequently, our state assessment scores have continued to improve over the past six years. Hopkins' utilizes PBIS (Positive Behavioral interventions and Supports Program) to promote responsibility, respectful behavior, and safety. Kindness is our common school theme. We have supportive parent and community members who volunteer hundreds of hours to help make Hopkins a better place. Parent feedback on yearly surveys show a high satisfaction rate.

I have two students who are open-enrolled at Hopkins. The teachers, staff and community are amazing! There is a true sense of family/community that surrounds the students. The personal attention and commitment to my kids has been much appreciated- teachers really want students to succeed and have gone over and beyond to help us get them there.

As a parent to 4 kiddos who are in Hopkins, I am very happy with the education my children have received. The teachers pour their hearts into my kiddos and challenge them academically. I absolutely love the community of parents, students and staff at Hopkins. I love the "small school" feel of Hopkins and all the fun activities they have to foster that home/school connection. I also LOVE the I Love to Read program where older members from the community come in to read one on one with the students- INCREDIBLE! Great school!

I have two kids at Hopkins. My son is in 5th grade and my daughter is in 2nd grade. They are very different. My son is intense and needs constant supervision and encouragement. My daughter is self motivated. I thought my sons success in school was going to be a huge challenge, but each year he has had the most wonderful teachers. They are inventive and skilled at challenging him and encouraging success through hard work and focus. He has had the most amazing year this year! He very easily could have become discouraged with school, but instead, he is engaged and loves going to school. Thank you Hopkins I am so grateful. My daughter has also been challenged to be the best version of herself! You would think with 2 such different kids, 1 would be lost in the shuffle, but not so! Hopkins takes the time to get to know each child, they work with the parents and are turning out some very well balanced, hard working, kind, honest little people. Sorry I sound like a freakin commercial for the school but after reading some of the reviews I thought it was important to share my Hopkins story!

I am a parent with three students at Hopkins. It is our neighborhood school. I have a student with learning difficulties and a student who is in the gifted and talented programs. I feel that they both get their needs met at Hopkins. It is important to me that there is a social/emotional aspect to the curriculum at the school so that my kids needs are met on all levels. Hopkins is a caring and academically excellent community. Test scores have steadily improved since my oldest child came in Kindergarten and is now in 5th grade. I would recommend Hopkins to any parent asking about elementary schools in LPS!

I have 3 children at this school since 2012. We were surprised that prior to 2010 test scores were 60% and since then have been in the 80%. Teachers are great, support staff gifted and special needs responds quickly and makes adjustments when needed. We are happy there and I honestly don't know what other parents are talking about with their comments of allowing bullying- the emphasis on positive behavior is a main reason why I chose this school and open enrolled here.

Our neighborhood school is Hopkins. We have been in the preschool program for four years and enrolled for our first year of kindergarten in 2014. My daughter's teacher, Mrs.Weidenaar, is amazing and my daughter is doing so well with writing, math and reading. I have found that all of the staff is supportive and that the teachers work as a team which seems to cross between all grade levels. My daughter loves all her teachers and that includes technology, library, music, PE and art. She is definitely receiving a well rounded education and it shows! I am sorry that other parents had to deal with bullying, I know that one of the goals of the school is to promote kindness. Maybe the program took some time to take, as some do. They have a special dean now that deals with all of these issues. My daughter had one problem, I emailed the teacher and when I checked in with my daughter she said she was not having anymore problems.

Our family has been at Hopkins since 2009 and we have had a completely different experience than the parents who have given it such a low rating. We have nothing but positive things to say about Hopkins. The few times our children have run into problems with other students, the teachers, office staff and the principal were extremely supportive in helping our children resolve their issues. The staff is so amazing and truly get to know each child. That is able to happen with a smaller population. I really feel like the teachers and support staff have their finger on the pulse of each and every student. Never would I describe any of the staff members as tired and wanting to get out! In fact, there were over 300 applicants for the most recent teaching position. People want to be a part of this Hopkins community. The growth that Hopkins students have shown on test scores over the past few years has been tremendous. We are above the district average in many categories. Good things are happening at Hopkins and we feel so grateful to be a part of it.

My children open enrolled in Hopkins but the past couple years since they got a new principal the school allows bullying, the principal response to sexual talk has been appalling, he has poor communication and scheduling, I have a student in the 5th grade and we are celebrating the day he goes to middle school. My other child at Hopkins will not be attending in the fall. Such a disappointment.

I am a current parent at Hopkins and I am looking to leave the school. The principal refuses to make the necessary disciplinary changes and because of this, bullying and harassment continue to be a big issue. My child comes home and tells me about the day and I am appalled. I cannot believe that a school that was once so great could fall so fast. I feel sorry for the teachers and staff because I believe they are not allowed to deal with these situations they way they want. The principal has effectively ruined this school. Hopefully LPS will realize this and get a new principal in there ASAP. I know that we are not waiting for that day. As soon as I can get my children enrolled in another school we will leave. We are very sad, as this used to be a great little neighborhood school.

Mark Hopkins was probably one of the best schools in the district. Then a new principle came in a has effectively destroyed all moral in the school. Teachers are pitted against each other. Bullying is rampant and they do little to help the issue.

I have had one to two kids enrolled at Hopkins since 2009, and I can't say enough good things about this school. The teachers were caring and were always willing to go the extra mile whenever either of my children had a problem. They're both smart kids, too, and they've definitely been adequately challenged. We are moving soon and will miss Hopkins tremendously! I feel very lucky that both of my children had their educational foundation here.
