Honestly, I'd give this school 0 stars if possible. This school has completely disappointed me. When I started, coming from CRMS, I was actually very excited. I've been let down again and again. Majority of the teachers are harsh and barely do their job, leaving students to basically teach themselves. If you struggle with ADHD, anxiety, etc- stay far away. They will not accommodate you, they will only punish you. I was sent to inpatient care mid-school year, and when I got back, I was met with attitude and told I would have to figure out everything I missed on my own time with absolutely no assistance of any kind. The students are no better either. It feels like every day is a fight for your own reputation like it's your life. Majority are entitled and/or racist. Not to mention the homophobia and transphobia. The worst part is the school seems to have a hard time letting me leave. I have been trying to transfer to a different school and CV can't seem to pick up the phone. I am supposed to start at this new school in a week and I am not even registered because I can't get documents from CV. If I wasn't sure about transferring before, I am now. I feel bad for the few good teachers at this school and wish them the best of luck.

This is the worst school! Do not send your kids here! My daughter has never had any issues in school. We moved to Colorado the end of her 8th grade year and it has been horrible! We put another child through high school in Kansas and had a great experience. Wish we never moved!

What once was a great school.. my first couple of years were beneficial for growth and learning. The math department has some amazing teachers, but one stood out to me as truly not caring and truly was a bully. This school year has killed the spirits of students. Control. That describes all the current school board cares about. Transforming a time of growth to make sure students know their opinion doesn't matter. Deeming each student as "guilty". This feels like the year of punishment. Taking away our phones, demanding you have a pass at all times, removing vending machines and dropping the wall so you cannot eat anything throughout the day- other than during lunch, lunch shortened by removing our passing period. Not only is there bullying but it more often than not comes for teachers. Even some teachers refuse to eat with the others due to bullying by their own peers. Switching the schedule next school year will truly be the downfall. Losing the only things that made this school worthwhile. I wish the younger students the best, and to support each other when the school fails to do so. Most of the amazing teachers are underpaid, or quit by now.

I'm a current parent of a student in Castle View high school, wanted to share that we love the school and the block schedule format. It really works for my son, the support and the advisement class really helps keep our son without much homework and tons of support!! One star that really stands out is our school counselor A. Kovach is amazing, great listener, support system to our son and just had a real and genuine connection. The block schedule format and great support throughout the high school makes this a major point of difference when looking for great schools in the Castle Rock area!! Thank you Castle View keep it just the way you are!

Run - do not walk - from this school's math curriculum. If your student is seriously interested in a science or engineering career, then the Integrated Math Program WILL NOT prepare him/her adequately! Go to DCHS instead. My son, who has a processing disorder, was extremely ill-served. We were, in fact, told that there "was no alternative" to the IMP program which was way too constructivist for him (he needed DIRECT instruction with LOTS of "drill and skill" practice). In the end, once we got an advocate involved, the school "magically" found an alternative for him. But it still sucked. Bottom line is that he is VERY bright, but needed a more traditional math curriculum. He had to take remedial pre-calc and trig at CCCD (community college of Denver) as a result, but is now a junior Mechanical Engineering student at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Lest you think this was only a problem for a student who is "differently-abled," let me tell you about his sister, younger by two years, who excelled in math during elementary and middles school. She too had the math and science mindset to do well in a STEM career. But I blame the IMP program for completely turning her "off" to math. She absolutely hated it and completed the minimum number of math courses needed to graduate. Now she is in a BA Psych program - also at MSU - and taking college statistics and loving it. Thanks, CVHS for turning BOTH my kids off to math......

Great school. It's like everyother highschool. There will always be bullying and teachers not really trying to connect with you.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. If you want any sort of success in life avoid this at all costs.

I have 2 children at CVHS and couldn't be more pleased with the education and extracurricular opportunities they have. My oldest jist graduated with a full academic scholarship to a prestigious university. Her teachers and counselors care about her and personally go out of their way to ensure she is successful and ready for college. I wouldn't send my children anywhere but CV for high school.

Staff goes out of their way to make sure kids are connected with at least one adult. Science program is great, although not much extracurricular for science if you do not participate in engineering. Math needs a little help. Love all the teachers there. Very happy we are here.

Beware!!! The Freshman counselor lacks knowledge to support your student to guide them through high school. The administration is very rude, condescending, and disingenuous and are unwilling to assist students and parents in any way. YOU are just a number...Teachers place their ego first and will not assist your student to succeed in class. The curriculum is incoherent and extremely biased and will not allow you to be successful outside of Castle View and does not prepare your student to build their own opinions about society and life. Douglas County HS or eDCSD are better options that will allow your student to flourish and succeed within their HS career.

I have my fourth child at Castle View and have had a positive experience with all 4. It is not perfect, as a newer school they are still working on building to the ideal vision. Sports are becoming competitive and this is one school to watch for on that scene. Lots of resources and opportunities for kids needing extra educational support. My kids have had the counsel needed when they ask, both emotionally and educationally. I would not consider moving my kids.

Castle View was once a great school. It is no longer in that category. Unfortunately, the school board has run off most of the quality teachers. The good teachers that are left are discouraged, adding to a terrible overall school culture. A recently planned expansion to CVHS was nixed by the board in favor of more mobiles, but the district has enough cash to open a new charter high school. The entire DCSD is being used as a test tube by a very political school board...sad. Bottom line, either plan to go to a private or charter school if you want quality or send your kids out of district. My kids go to CVHS and CRMS today. They will be going out of district next year.

Castle view is a very fast school the teachers can be amazing but we also have some that dont care. If you need help this is not the school for you. I am a sophomore and i honestly cant wait to move from this school. For being an academic school they really dont care if you need help or not. It use to be an amazing school a few years ago and no it has gone down hill so fast

This is probably one of the worst schools my daughter has ever attended. The teachers are not helpful and neither is administration. If your child is not gifted or just needs some extra help, forget about it. It's either keep up or get left behind and forgotten. I will be taking her out before the end of the year.

THIS SCHOOL IS AMAZING!!!!! The teachers are so friendly and helpful and you learn a bunch!!! the principal is always outside of his room and talks to students! there are some drugs like every school but they go off campus. Most kids are friendly and willing to make new friends and everybody has great spirit for the school!!! the secruity guards are always at the doors and they are protective of there students....if you had a choice of DC or CV, choose CV because serouisly... it is 100% better. there isnt even fights or "mean girls"!
