As a recent graduate of Socrates Preparatory, I can attest to the benefits of attending. Before attending, I had never really believed it when an institution spouted on about how they were a family - it seemed like arbitrary corporate language preaching an unattainable level of intimacy and teamwork. But my time at Socrates Prep changed my mind, because the community they've created is a family in every way possible. I grew up homeschooled and academically unchallenged, never knowing how to apply myself and believing myself incapable of succeeding in an academic atmosphere or completing/accomplishing work I could be proud of. I joined Socrates Prep at the start of my junior year, and I instantly knew I had found the place where I could finally academically and socially flourish. Socrates Prep offers their students so many opportunities and they have a genuine unfaltering belief in every individual that steps through their doors. They go above and beyond for their students, and they've created an environment in which you can do as much as you can dream. HomeworkThis school has an effective approach to homework:Everything at Socrates is student based - the homework is never unnecessary work or tedious tasks or unchallenging material, and there is an understanding between teachers and students on communicating due dates and workloads. The faculty and administration is SO attentive and understanding when it comes to schoolwork - they listen to student feedback and make changes accordingly. For instance, there was a student push for MORE homework, and they listened and acted! But just like most any institution, the work ethic has to start with the individual - YOU have to apply yourself to the work given, and the second you do, you instantly see the rewards and benefits. TeachersTeachers at this school are effective:I've never known of a school where the teachers care so much for their students. Not only are they rooting for you academically but personally, and they are so understanding of personal complications and stress and the consequential set backs. They go above and beyond for their students in both curriculum and on a personal level. Learning DifferencesThis school effectively supports students with learning differences:Again, Socrates Prep is student based - they do everything in their power to accommodate their students and provide resources in any way they can.

This school has changed my son's life. Before coming here his schooling experiences had left him feeling defeated and spirit broken. He was not challenged nor was he allowed to excel. Socrates Prep has allowed him to spread his wings and fly. This school nurtures the whole child and embraces the reality that children need to grow not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. My son not only likes school, he now loves it! The teachers and staff are exceptionally dedicated to the art of educating and care deeply for the students and are committed to making sure they succeed. Our family is so grateful to have found such a positive learning environment.

Socrates has been and will always be a blessing not only for my son but also for myself. As a parent we always want nothing but the best for our children, specially when it comes to their educational journey. My son started at Socrates Prep when he was in 5th grade back in 2015. Before Socrates Prep I had him in public school where he was struggling keeping up with their fast pace and following a one for all curriculum. He always had a passion for learning and exploring new things. At Socrates Prep he was able to explore and learn at his own pace, he was taught to learn it till he mastered it! Teachers are filled with passion and they truly care about all student and their unique differences. My son was able to thrive and learn in an environment filled with love and care. With that being said, he was able to become president of NHS, graduated Valedictorian of his class and received a scholarship to his first choice University in Tampa. He is now thriving in college and I owe it to all the amazing teachers that taught him throughout the years and all the immense dedication that they offered him. Thank you so much for all that you do. Your hard effort is greatly appreciated!

I have been a student at this school since elementary, and they have done everything in their power to help me and see me excel towards my future. The staff and teachers have been very understanding of my busy schedule and are always available if you need help or even just someone to talk to. This school feels like one big family and I’m so happy that I’ve had an opportunity to meet some of the people I did.

As a first year teacher, I was welcomed with open arms. This community is truly like a family. The immediate indication is how each student is viewed holistically and not as just a number. There is a true dedication to ensuring that all students are comfortable and heard whether that is academically or emotionally. Students are given a freedom to explore their own passions deeper while also receiving a well-rounded education. Teachers are given the autonomy to cultivate an environment set up for each student. This school is the future of education.

Prior to working at Socrates, I had the opportunity to teach at over 23 different schools. The dedication and commitment of this group of teachers, and the administrative leaders is exceptional. We are a group of educators who believe our students will change the world.

Grated the education was better than going to a Florida public school. That doesn't weigh over the fact they didn't care about were I was in math, other students being bullied mind you that most of this students being bullied were by the staff members children. There's just to much drama

This school is a place where your child will never be lost like they might be in a public school setting. The teachers and especially the director care about each student and lets them shine in their own specific way.

The school now has Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) accreditation (very hard to get). 2015-16 school year there are 35 students enrolled (K - 12) and the high school teachers are mostly PhDs who have taught in colleges including Rollins. Great school, with low student to teacher ratios. If you have a student who really wants to learn and be stimulated, this is a wonderful environment.

Socrates Prep, a new school for motivated and talented kids, has exceeded my expectations. My son will be in the 9th grade this coming year, and we have had to school hop every couple of years in search of a program and environment that fits. In Socrates, my son has finally found his home away from home. The teachers are wonderful, the kids fantastic, the campus peaceful. Socrates has lived up to the promise of individualized care and attention, working with my son to help him achieve his academic goals, including allowing him to audit college courses for elective credit. If you're looking for a truly special place for your motivated and/or exceptionally talented child, Socrates presents the best the Greater Orlando area has to offer. And I should know, as we've managed to attend 5 schools, all of them good in their own ways, in 8 years :) Socrates stands out above the crowd!
