We moved our kids from other school to Canyon Heights Academy and we're so happy that we made a right choice. Canyon Heights Academy provides relationship between teachers and students and the families that helps the process of education and builds the foundation for the students. At Canyon Heights Academy, we see the school provides the highest quality education for our kids in a loving, supportive, and safe environment.

I looked for a good private school having high academic curriculums, great teachers, various cultures and racial/gender diversity. Canyon Heights Academy was the best choice and my child is very satisfied with the school life here. Although my family was not Catholic, everyone in the community respects us sincerely.

Canyon Heights is a small school that has the ability to take each student and work within their level. The class sizes are smaller which allows the students to thrive in a very collaborative environment without the drama or 'cliques' you get in larger schools. They thrive in mathematics and allow students to test out of a grade and participate in the next grade up which has allowed our child to finally learn and not be bored with the material. It is a very family environment full of participation from parents and teachers together. Faith is incorporated into the subjects in a very thoughtful way and has really made our child a more well rounded and confident person. I highly recommend this school!

I am happy that i chose Canyon Heights Academy for my daughter. We came from Stratford, which is very academic, but did not have the Catholic foundation that i wanted for my daughter. Not only is Canyon Heights highly academic, but it also defends and teaches the true Catholic faith. The classes are small, and the teachers are highly educated. I am very happy that i chose this school.

We where looking a school for our two kids that was focus on soft skills development, values and academics, and we found all of that in Canyon Heights. It has been a great experience, more than we expected as we also found a warming and welcoming community of professional parents that also cares about their family development. There is a sense of family around the school, my kids are very happy to attend their respective clases (pre-k and 1st grade), and as parents we have a community that support us , we are not from California so this has been crucial for us to cope with the culture and the day to day life of the area. Considering the quality of education and the price, Canyon Heights is the bes option in the bay area for us.

Canyon Heights Academy is the best thing that has happened to our lives and our daughters’. Coming from 5 prior years of private and public education around the Bay Area with our two daughters, moving to Canyon Heights was a turning point for us. After only 1 year at the school, it became like family to us. The school excels at human and Catholic values formation, while maintaining really high academy standards.

My family and I have been with the school since fall of 2021, and our experience thus far have been wonderful! We love the small, tight-knit community feel to this school. The school's philosophy of educating the whole child through integral formation - human, intellectual, spiritual and apostolic - really sets it apart from the others!

My family has been at Canyon Heights for more than 8 years now. Our oldest started in Kindergarten while our 2 younger ones started in Pre-K. Their Montessori method of teaching, integrated with Catholic values, was the principal factor in our decision. The school's ideology of integral formation is unique in the Bay Area. They (teachers and administration) really try to educate the whole person, as opposed to only the academic aspect. Our kids have found friends who are good influences, and we have found good people who we would cherish as lifelong friends.

My family and I have been apart of the Canyon Heights community for the last five years. My two children have grown not only academically but spiritually as well. Built into to day is incredible faith formation. Our school has amazing chaplains who are on campus nearly everyday as well the support of a faith filled community. I truly believe that this has helped them both grow into good people. The adage that "it takes a village" to help raise a child is true here. Indeed, our family has forged some lifelong friendships with other families that have become extensions of our own family. The faculty and staff are warm, knowledgable and supportive. They truly go above and beyond in helping my boys. The class sizes tend to be small thus allowing for more individualized attention. Finally, CHA has access to a diverse array of after school clubs and activities which have given my kids an opportunity to try their hand at new skills.

We have been parents at CHA for 6 years. We couldn't be happier with the academics, the community and the teachers & staff. CHA is not only a school for our kids, it's a home for our family. It's where we have met great friends, gotten unbelievable support and learned so much.

We started here after touring other local Catholic schools. What decided us on CHA was the small class sizes - the most they allow in a class is 24, often our kids have been in classes with less. So much personal attention to each student. After being at the school for 10 years what I've come to appreciate is how focused they are on the whole person. Academic excellence is a goal but the person my child is growing into is also a huge focus. In this day and age I appreciate that my child's heart is just as important as her test scores. Each year I've come to love the teacher my child has had, only to discover the next grade's teacher is equally wonderful. There's a lot that goes on for families to participate in, and the other parents are great friends now. They're not affiliated with the diocese so yes, they ask for money throughout the year but I appreciate all we get here that diocesan schools probably aren't (better faith formation IMO, not just feeling like my kid is a number).

Very disappointed…They ask for money or for things for the kids (great) and for the teachers, for everything… for the annual fundraising they chased me to my car asking me for the money in front of my kid… almost every day I received more then one emails… it was overwhelming this whole year… at the end of the school year they didn’t have enough care with COVID because they had events with lots of people without masking and COVID cases of course… we didn’t receive a good response from the administration too slow or none… the eating ate don’t have shades, the poor kids are under the bright sun in a hot day having their lunch…. The students’ cubis are also outside so forget about your kids having a cold or fresh lunch… facilities are ok but they don’t have a gymnasium.

An amazing community almost like a second home for children. My daughter started her at the age of 2 in Early montessori and is now 5 and in Kindergarten and I have nothing but good things to say about the school. It's a community oriented school so if you have time, you can get involved as much as you like and there are lots of events for parents at the school. Parents are extremely helpful and a very welcoming community. Virtues are given a lot of importance in the development of children and they learn what's right and wrong very early on. Children are children, however any bad behavior is addressed right away. Academics are par excellence without adding too much pressure on kids and the right amount of homework. Lastly, there's so many activities at school and performances children participate in that they lose stage fear very early on.

Our experience has been very positive. Our biggest goals are for our children to love learning and to see themselves very capable of learning a lot, and, to grow into virtuous young adults. To that end, it is an ongoing success.

Very poor! I wish I could say something positive but unfortunately it was a nightmare

Disappointing. We expect much more from a Catholic School. It seems that they are just focused on getting the enrollment numbers up. They try to portray and image of prestige, but need to practice more humility. Very behind the times in modern technology.

When we joined Canyon Heights back in 2014 we were not sure if we would remain. However, a new Head of School was appointed who has made several areas her top priority. 1. Improving teachers with higher degrees in Elementary Education and diverse cultures - this was pleasing to my family. 2. Focus on the Basics and science, not a common core curriculum. This has proven to help the schools test scores and retention of students and staff. 3 Giving some attn. to a much needed campus. Leasing an older property is never easy. But with the dedicate support of families, alumni and fundraising, the campus has improved dramatically in 3 years. The Community of Families is like no other school or church I have come across. They support all members and provide spiritual guidance and help.Last but not least, they offer several daily/weekly masses for family and students to attend. Reconnecting with faith and the mass has kept us at Canyon Heights Academy along with the tremendous teachers and staff that have come in the last two years.

Our three kids joined the school five years ago. Overall, I think the school is ok, at least many mothers involved to build up a close community and support our kids in school. The good part is all facility is ok, huge playground grass field let kids enjoy their break time. Teachers are kind, dressed properly every day. Kids come from families who cares about eduction. Bad parts are teacher turnover rate is pretty high from 2013 to 2015; Kids are not in a close relationship, and we are losing students in each class. My youngest one attending 2nd grade can't even find someone to play with during recess time. All three of my kids complained the school life is boring because no friends. Academic is not challeging, and many lower school class has special need kids. I wonder how much time teacher actually spend with my kids. The feeling is mixed when we have to decide to choose another school. Extracurriculum is weak, no strong sports neither art or music program.

Our son and daughter have been at the school since they were in pre-school which was 5 years ago. We love the academic, religious and holistic approach to education. The teachers are very dedicated and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Our kids (and the parents) have made some great friends here. We look forward to staying till the 8th grade.
