We have been very happy with our experience at St. Lucy. The teachers care genuinely for their students and are invested in their success, both as students and humans. The school hosts many events throughout the school year to foster a sense of community, and as a result, the parent community feels very supportive and cohesive. Highly recommend.

As an alumni of this school having completed K-8th grade, I would love to share my experience. This school was a failing to me and to my family. The level of harassment that went on for me, as a biracial woman - little girl at the time - , that was tolerated and by apathy, permitted by a primarily white staff, was incorrigible. Physical evidence of harassment at the hands of other children and parents was brought to the attention of the staff, and they did little to nothing. Aside from that, this establishment is ill equipped to properly educate your children in science, mathematics, and foreign language. Please to not support this institution.

It has been the best experience ever and I love every person there and it would be hard for me to leave. All of the people are like family and it is a really good school

My experience at this school has been terrific and I enjoy learning new things everyday with my fellow students. My classmates and teachers are always supportive of me and I enjoy making new friends!

We have been very happy here. I feel extremely lucky that we found this school. My child has been nurtured, is doing very well academically, socially and spiritually. St Lucy really does focus on the whole child. In addition, the community is very tight knit. My husband and I each have lost a parent during our time here and the whole school rallied behind us.

I have two daughters currently attending St. Lucy. Several children on my family have attended St. Lucy and successfully transferred into high schools and colleges. They have a very competitive education system while supporting the catholic values we share. Teachers and staff is approachable. There has been some issues with teacher retention the past few years that have caused concern, but I am optimistic that it will be resolved soon. Will definitely recommend to friends and family

Excellent! I have been with the school 6 years now and I like it more and more each year. The whole community is really like my family.

I have a 5th and 7th grader at St Lucy. They both started at kindergarten. Our family loves the school because of its small size and community. We came here to create a good foundation for our kids before entering high school. They love it here and have made many great friends.

I just read the post regarding the purported "60 students" leaving St. Lucy's last year. That statement is simply an exaggeration. It's true that some families moved and some could no longer afford the tuition after a hefty increase (which came after years of very small tuition increases). It's also true that some families left because their children have special needs that can't be met at St. Lucy's. Unfortunately, there are some parents that love creating drama (and always seem to be complaining about something). St. Lucy's is without a doubt a wonderful school. My children have received strong educations and are more than prepared for private high school. I love St Lucy's school. I would recommend it to anyone that wishes to have their child receive a great education at a school that also reinforces the development of kindness, good judgment, and empathy-- the kind of values that they have learned at home.

Several families--up to 60 students--left the school in the 2015-2016 year. Our experience was that our kids weren't getting enough science and math. At the 4th and 5th grade level, 4 hours a week was spent on religion and 2 hours on science. Foreign language is new in all grades. So it wasn't surprising to hear that 8th graders weren't prepared for science, math or foreign language at local Catholic high schools. Sure, it's a caring community, but that's not the primary reason you spend money to send your kids to private school.

We have one child at St. Lucy and have found it to be both academically challenging and a strong developer of social skills. The community, both students and parents, is welcoming and tight knit. We definitely feel we are getting our money's worth and appreciate the "old school" feel where religion and patriotism is still a significant part of the curriculum. The teachers are very responsive and create a healthy learning environment in the classroom. The administration provides the right tools/support to prepare students for the future. We are completely satisfied with St. Lucy Parish School.

We have three children in this school and we love it. The teachers are amazing and instill a love of learning in the children. We visited many schools and found St Lucy's to be the obvious choice. The school curriculum is excellent and the community is very welcoming. We highly recommend attending the open house and/or taking a private tour.

My children have loved and thrived at St. Lucy's. We transferred in and felt welcomed from the moment we set foot in the door. We feel as though the administration has done a great job in managing the school effectively, bringing in solid faculty members when the need has arisen, sets priorities appropriately, continually asks for parent feedback (e.g. on-line surveys and Principal's Coffees) and is getting better and better about communicating with parents. There have been bumps in the road, but the administration has been quick to learn and improve. We have really enjoyed the "extras" and innovative things St. Lucy's is doing: Junior High electives, integration of technology, Family Groups, live "Walk Through" histories. We feel confident in the faculty--the teachers are engaging, always positive and are very responsive. The community is a lot of fun (FunFest is the best school/parish festival we have attended). Parents are giving of their time and the parent groups are well run. We have never regretted our difficult choice to move.

My 2 kids have been attending St Lucy's for the past 4 years and we've been very happy here. As I've heard many times before, it truly takes a village when raising kids and that is what it feels like here. Because it is a small school, you really get to know a lot of kids and parents in different grades. The school sets up "Family Groups" which consists of one kid from each grade in a group, and this allows kids to get to know and learn from older kids as well. The ongoing school events, class trips, and Mom's Nights Out really helps create a community where we want to help each other and be involved. The ongoing message to the students of lending a helping hand, being a friend, never bullying, etc has really helped raise great kids across all the classes. It's a community I love being a part of which I didn't see in the local public schools.

We looked at several local schools--charter and private--before choosing St. Lucy's. We chose to send our kids here because of the school's excellent reputation **with local teachers**, and the caring environment. Yes, the new administration had unusual internal issues to deal with in school years 2012 and 2013. However, recent new hires and program changes have been very impressive, and it's clear that academics are a priority here. Personally speaking, our kids are flourishing. We're very happy with St. Lucy's and highly recommend it.

We have been at St. Lucy School for years, and I wouldn t enroll my kids anyplace else. The teachers are warm and nurturing, the community is strong, and the leadership is experienced and forward thinking. This year is off to a great start. The principal added a new elective program in Jr. High, improved the Jr. high class schedule so the kids move more, added school-wide community service days, and moved to a new hot lunch option that is organic and healthy! New teachers in 3rd, 5th, and science seem to be great additions. Our kids are also excited about having iPads and laptops in the classrooms. We love SLS for our family.

St. Lucy has had it's ups and downs over the decade we have been there. Unfortunately, the new administration is inexperienced and struggling to keep the school heading in a good direction. It is sad to see. Several wonderful families have left the school because of this. The classes for older kids are particularly troublesome. St. Lucy has stopped letting the kids change classes and that makes for long, boring days in junior high. The community is strong, but only having one class per grade is tough on the older kids.

I have been a parent at this school for over 4 years now and a parish member for a lot longer. The reason we chose this school was because of all the positive feedback we heard. So far our experience has been great. There have been changes in administration during our time at the school but overall the transition has been smooth. The community at this school is amazing and the academics are excellent. No place is perfect but this school gets our top rating.
