A stepping-stone school at best.High-quality teachers don’t stay because there’s no effort to retain them—low pay and lack of administrative support push them toward better opportunities elsewhere. Many who remain seem resistant to growth or improvement.HR is disorganized, frequently citing "no policy in place" for basic professional procedures. Communication is unclear, and delays are common. The union lacks true advocacy, often prioritizing its own interests over fair representation. The workplace culture is toxic—gossip is rampant, and instead of addressing legitimate concerns, leadership allows misinformation to spread unchecked. That said, you will find some gems here—teachers and staff who genuinely care about students and work hard despite the challenges. Unfortunately, the system does little to support them.If you're considering employment here, be prepared for frustration, red tape, and little support. For parents, Be prepared to advocate for your child, as administrative inefficiencies can lead to frustration and inconsistent communication.

I wanted to share my experience with you about this amazing high school. Everything was great, but I have to say, the special education was problematic with one of my kids it could use some improvement. It would be better for kids in special education to consider other schools that provide more opportunities for them to show their capabilities. It's frustrating to see these capable teens not getting the support they need to be college-ready. Their special ed program should focus more on college preparation, be kind, and more encouraging. They're more than capable of going to college, just like their classmates. Let's hope for positive changes!

Let's just say I would avoid putting my child in this school district at all cost. Not very inclusive environment all around. Came across many graduates that share this view. Disappointed with teachers (not all) and especially administration.

Overall this school district is decent, but there are some growing concerns with the special education department. The special education department could use some improvement. I wouldn't advise anyone who deals with special education regularly from grades K–12 to attend this district.

Decent school as long as your kid "does not step outside the box" or have any mental health/personal/family issues. IP counselors, and those in charge of your child, are sub par and should be evaluated REGULARLY for their competence and ability to deal with students facing challenges that have nothing to do with academic scores. If your child has issues, mental or otherwise, and is not happy with their counselor-change them. If your child is complaining-believe them. Be proactive, know your rights and be involved. My only regret is not suing the people in charge of my mental health while attending this HS.

The schools in the school district-school are toxic. Yes, there are some great people in region 10. I mean lovely people Who generally care but,but overall, this place is so judged mentally toxic. When my children went to college, they reported that college is a way happier and healthier environment. Then they previously had in their school days. These school districts are primarily about money and being wealthy and social status, what sport you play, versus the person as an individual, which is heartbreaking at college; it’s different; they’re more focused on the person as an individual. I’m just glad My children are officially out of high school now; The school district really went downhill when my children first started in Elementary school; it was about being down to earth being the ordinary student versus when My kids started high school, it began to be about how what’s your social status and your income. It’s not ok to be the ordinary anymore. Instead of being everyone has acted the same, dresses the same just to fit in, just to feel that social pressure to be excepted, which is horrifying too my children and me. To be honest, in the school district, they’re not prepping your kids for the real world; your child is in a protective bubble from the real world. Everything in the schools is sugarcoated, and some of these parents are in the area really add onto the school's character. In the new superintendent, I thought the guy was decent wasn’t the best, but this guy is honestly turning the school system into a rack, making it much worse for everyone as a whole.

I spent all 12 years as a student back in the day going through Region 10 and overpaid to buy a house and to come back to Region 10 for my kids. Biggest regret of my life! The school has really gone downhill since I went. Gone are the programs for gifted students and those looking to work hard to get ahead. You either need to have a special needs student or be a VERY vocal parent in order to get your children a decent education. The new superintendent was run out of town from his last job and landed here. And I thought the last guy was bad.

Great small town school. Teachers care about the students. The communication system and strong and effective. Solid leadership. Very positive experience, especially for my youngest daughter who is a sophomore. I had two older kids who already graduated and are in college.

Fantastic. Small town, great camaraderie, teachers who care. Both my kids did great after graduating from LSM

Excellent, Lucio DeMarco is one of the best guidance counselors. Very good reputation among his students.

I'm a senior and this school was tolerable the first couple of years I was there and now it sucks even more. Teachers don't prepare you and you're constantly judged by both students and teachers. You could push yourself harder than you need to in order to get your credits and grades up to graduate, but the dumbest kids in the entire school will still outrank you. What Mills really shows is the preppy popular snobby girls, jocks, and sports come first. The new dean is awful as well. I knew a student who got punched, then her phone thrown and shattered by another student, but he did absolutely NOTHING about it! He didn't talk to his parents nor did this girl get any money to replace her phone. The student who did this to her was a jock, go figure. Terrible communication, terrible school in general. I'm glad I transferred out for my incoming final year of high school. I'd give this school 0 stars if it counted as a rating here. This school states that bullying and inequality is not tolerated, but they need to bring these guidelines to life, stop being lazy, and do their jobs!

I'm a junior at this school and a lot of things went downhill since I started here freshman year. All I could say is that it's like teachers are only in it for the money and give most people bad grades for the fun of it rather than actually teaching. There are some teachers that actually care and prepare you, but other than that, it's not really a good school. Most of the kids there are also really mean to other kids in which absolutely no adult in this school does anything about these types of things. Unless you want your kid to get a decent education, don't send them here.

Lewis S. Mills is one of the best highscools to attend in the area for academics. I was extremely well prepared for college in 2009. Most of the students from my graduating class have done really well already. The business teachers are well above average. I cannot say enough great things about this school.

I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I didn't have a pleasent experience going here. In classes when you try to learn new topics, it seems like the teachers expect you to know everything about it when you barely even learned it, which is why I have a hard time academically even if I asked for help. There are also a lot of kids that think they own the school along with a lot of bullying involved. There should be more consequences for kids who are doing this to other students.
