SFX is an amazing school. It was amazing when I went there and it's even better now that my kid goes there. I heard there were issues a few years back (before I enrolled my child) but the school did address them. Since we joined, they have hired a lot of new teachers and I must say they're top notch, credentials, masters degrees, etc. The school has really strengthened its offerings and enrollment has visibly increased as a result. They have been given "best in Burbank" status for a reason. They handled the pandemic very well and I am so grateful that my child is blessed with these teachers and wonderful campus.

I just saw another post about bullying and the principal and wanted to share our story. After many years at SFX we became aware that not only was there a problem with bullying, there was a major problem with the principal. He did not want to deal with the problems we had, or the problems that the other 80+ kids that left when we did 2 years ago.... or the others we heard that left last year. Before we even left, we started talking to other families. It seemed that there was a pattern there.... either you tried to get a meeting with the principal and it never worked out, or you finally got a meeting and in our case, we were told that it didn't seem to be a big deal to him. Other parents told us that they felt like whoever gave the most money was who's side he took, or the fact he just didn't want to deal with it was the way it was.And I don't think it was just because we were not Catholic, but whatever the reason, we are so glad our kids are in the Burbank public schools now and are experiencing lots of great electives and even catching up on their math.

This is a great little catholic school with wonderful teachers. Some parents want to tell the teachers what to do and that is not right. They have the education to teach the children. St. Francis Xavier has some of the best scores on STAR testing in the area so they are doing things right. The community is close and look our for each other. This school teaches morals and values. The unhappy parents did not get their way and left. St. Francis is better off without them.

I have given this school 3 stars only because of the community itself and the handful of parents that have been welcoming and involved and are absolutely quality people. On the other hand, I've been incredibly disappointed with the consistency and quality of the education, the recent issues with bullying and the stance the administration has taken on those issues and the turnover in teaching staff. SFX has been a good, not great, private school at one time and may need some time, maybe several years, to rebuild to that again.

In regards to past negative comments, It's obvious you can't please everyone. This school is my families community. The teachers, staff, and the principal have always been helpful to my family. I have 2 children going here and it's been four years. We couldn't ask for a better community.

Unfortunately this school is "run" by a washed up version of Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High (it's funny unless you're enrolled). The teachers are mediocre on a great day (some even nap in class). If your child is at all bright the 5th grade teacher feels threatened and is quite cruel. I could go on but the truth is usually wasted in these little reviews. Just want to warn anyone considering this sad excuse for a school. I will admit, shame on me, I know better than anyone you get what you pay for... Maybe that's why it needs about 3 coats of paint and more than half of their light bulbs replaced.

St. Francis Xavier is an excellent private Catholic school nestled in the Burbank Hills. The curriculum and extracurricular activities recognize the unique talents and viewpoints of every child, providing superior programs in academics, arts, athletics and community service. SFX is hands down the best private school in Burbank!

I attended this school and would recommend it to anybody. I got a great and full education, and I felt that the staff and teachers really cared about the students.

Sadly the experience of this school is definitely lacking from previous years. Teachers leave for maternity leave or, unfortunately, pass on and they find replacement, non-credentialed teachers to fill in. Listen parents, you only get one year per grade, there is no 'do overs'.....so if the school doesn't have replacement, credentialed teachers, then what are you paying for? Not a great way to run a school.

I read the good and the bad comments and I have to defer. First, no school is perfect but here there a great commitment to students success. There are certain parents that participate more actively in the school than others mostly because they are stay at home parents and it may look like they have privileges but in fact is not accurate, it does make some other parents feel outsiders but that is within the parents NOT the school. The after school teachers are great I wont be able to work without knowing that my son is in good hands. My son had never complaint about bullies in afterschool and he loves it, when there are situations like anywhere they approach the issue and solve the problem quickly. There are some things that should be improved like anywhere else but I dont believe that the doors of the school are closed to comments or assistance. The principal and administration are great and available to the parents. Most teachers are great and there is a great dedication to the students in this school and I wont change it for anything.

Congratulations to St. Francis Xavier's 8th grade class! All of the students that took the Math Placement Test at Notre Dame High School tested out of Algebra and straight into Geometry. Way to go Teachers and Students at St. Francis Xavier!

We are very happy with St. Francis Xavier School. As parents of alumni and current students, we feel that St. Francis Xavier has prepared our children not only for the academic challenges in their high schools ( they were accepted to their first choice of Catholic High Schools), but also for the many challenges of life. This is a wonderful, Catholic community in which EVERYONE can find their own niche of involvement if they look for it. The principal and teachers are caring and firm, which I think is the perfect combination for a school They listen to parents' concerns, but are not pushovers when it comes to making difficult decisions. As a parent with a few more years of elementary school, I would not send my children to any other school.

I felt bullied by the administration at this school also. When I had issues with an incompetent teacher, my child became the problem. The administrators defend their teachers to the core. Parents get emails telling them not to "vent" to other parents on school property or use the class roster to discuss class problems even if a teacher is grading tests wrong, losing turned in homework, discussing inappropriate personal issues and falling asleep during class, the teacher is not the problem. At this school, the aftercare has bullies and kids go unsupervised at times. Sometimes they forget to sign kids in. In addition, if your child forgets 1 of 10 textbooks and/or workbooks, they can't do homework and will get an "F" the next day. I have been deeply disappointed by the ineffectiveness of the administration to lead this school. The school claims to be advanced in learning but with only 8 weeks left this school year, my child is BEHIND compared to public school, not because my child is a problem but because, in the SFX class, they are many chapters behind other schools in math, science and history - the teacher's answer for why they are behind in the curriculum "The class is too loud."

Bullying by a parent online? Wow, I'm shocked by the response coming from a "Christian" parent and this "Christian" school. It must be from one of those certain families and children that are given special privileges at this school (comment posted in 2008)... that's the attitude of this Principal and select group, you don't like it, then leave. Instead, they should offer to help make a parent and child's experience more positive by offering to help or meet...

Excellent School! This school provides children with a wonderful education and learning environment. The school is well equipment with up to date technology to help ensure the children have the necessary tools to succeed. Furthermore the extracurricular activities provided by the school help ensure your child will have a well rounded education. The school works hard to make sure children are given the individual attention they need to succeed. I highly recommend this school

My child is a student in the 4th Grade and is performing very well in class and in national tests. One brief medical incident from a seasoned teacher does not define the program, the school, or the principal. Yes, 4th grade is challenging, as the students are already learning Jr. High School Algebra, so parents must be involved with the curriculum if they want their child to succeed. The Principal and staff are dedicated to the children's success, and the parental and community support is unparalleled.
