All three of my children have been students at Glenwood. Two were President of Student Council. They have the UCLA Beam program, springboard, intervention, before school and after school programs, and great parent workshops every month. They also have a PTA that helps provide additional support to the school community. Small school with a big heart. Feels like home.

I attended Glenwood Elementary and graduated in 2005 over the years I have returned on numerous occasions. As I continued to grow into an adult and further my education I revisited Glenwood and kept in contact with many of the teachers that shaped me into the student and person I am today. While the school is small the teachers are passionate and driven. There is such a love for teaching students on this campus and fostering growth in education as well as growth as people. The students will learn the material in addition to being empathetic, caring, imaginative , and strong critical thinkers. As I am entering the last semester of my Graduate program and need to start my student teaching I immediately thought of Glenwood. There is no other place where I would rather learn how to be the best teacher. I graduated in 2005 and I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to learn under the wonderful teachers here and continue to grow my education and complete my Masters from where my passion for teaching and caring about students began at Glenwood Elementary. This is truly a wonderful school!

I transfer my 8 yr old here 3 yrs ago, now she is in 2nd grade, she has speech delay and has been in the IEP program for these yrs. My daughter just keeps improving, which gave her confidence and enjoys going to school. My daughter keeps getting certificates for her improvements and I am so grateful for that. Her teachers are just amazing! I might sound like I am overreacting but this is what I have seen in the past 3 yrs. They go beyond for their students even with the whole crisis going on, teachers try their best to manage with the tools the U.S Education department provides. Wanted to post this to let every one know I appreciate the dedication these teachers have for their students. But parents please don't forget the teachers can only do so much it is our responsibility to guide our children, their education starts at home :)

Glenwood is small school (+/- 400 students) with a relatively large special education population because there are 4 special ed classes and one RSP on campus. The campus feeling is cozy and the quality of instruction has improved with each year that I have worked there as an itinerant provider (this is my 3rd year). There are still some issues that need to be addressed, but the trend is for improvement and it has become a very decent little school. I would consider sending my own kids there.
