Communication between parent and staffing top notch

My son is thriving in Kindergarten under the exceptional care and guidance of his teacher, Kathryn Williamson. He absolutely loves going to school every day, and I attribute that to Mrs. Williamson's warmth, patience, and dedication to creating a nurturing learning environment. Her ability to foster a love of learning in her students is truly impressive. I couldn't be more grateful for her exceptional teaching and commitment to my son's educational journey!

Both of my kids have attended FES. We have been blessed with the best teachers for them who truly care and support the students and the families.

We love FES!! Both of my children started and finished their elementary years at Friendship. The teachers, admin, office staff are incredibly helpful and professional! My kids learned so much and were more than prepared for middle and high school! My kids loved every teacher they had at FES!

Great school but a lot of the children that are coming from Country Side Mobile Home Park ( Buford Ga ) have really big discipline problems - this school is having to deal w the problematic kids

I was in the gifted program a few years ago before I moved, and the teacher for gifted, Lancaster, had a too high bar for standards, and so my mother had let me stay out of gifted for half a year in the school I had moved to, Walnut Grove. To be honest, the gifted teacher was horrible, but my regular teachers were quite nice... unless you have ADHD. Most teachers end up putting them at a desk by themselves, by the wall away from most people, and those students, from what I've seen, had been frustrated at the teacher and themselves. Although I was not there for kindergarten, or fifth grade (I went to 3 elementary schools), I have to say that these teachers need to be better, and need to stop fussing with their students like they were their sister's children they had to babysit.

I was a little nervous as we transitioned from Homeschool to Friendship last year, but Mr Walton and Mrs Peck were very attentive to this Mom with a million questions. Mr Walton seems to run a tight ship, which I appreciate. His responsibility is to be an authority figure not a best friend. He's a busy man, but has been approachable each time I've seen him throughout the year. The kids loved their teachers, and I was grateful for the fact that they kept open lines of communication. I'm thankful for the implementation of the Wellness Initiative, it certainly compliments the Educational focus...as a parent, I desire healthy kids across the board! The reason I didn't give Friendship 5 stars is only because the facility is a little dated, but it is always kept clean. We're looking forward to another year at Friendship...It was the number one school in the county last year... They must be doing something right!

I pulled my kids out after one year. Teachers were ok at best, office staff was rude. Kids were picked on by both teachers and students. My special needs child had a better learning experience than my other children.

We love FES! We have had kids at this school for over 6 years and have only had fantastic teachers who put 100% into their work. The atmosphere is warm, exciting and very focused on academics. The principal lacks in the passion the teachers have but the students don't seem to suffer from it. Even though my kids have gone to this little school in Buford they seem more advanced then some kids we know who have attended private schools! Yes, its true!

I am pulling my child out of this school, out of the 4 yrs that my son has attended friendship he has only had 1 good teacher. my child has ADHD and teachers dont seem to want anything to do with any adhd or add student. I dont have to worry about my child being picked on by other students I do however have to worry about him being picked on and victimized by the teachers! all of the staff and faculty is horrible bottom line!

We transferred into this school from a highly rated Gwinnett school and found it much more to our liking. Teachers are much warmer are more ready to make personal connections with the kids -- Gwinnett felt much too institutional. The teachers recognize me even when I don't know who they are. I am very disappointed with the choice to follow a wellness initiative. I would much prefer a more academic focus. That said, my 5th grader is very much enjoying the new afterschool programs. Loved 4th grade where the teachers leveled the kids according to ability. 5th grade teachers do not, and my daughter is more bored. Gifted program at this school is disappointing, many girls drop out by 5th grade.

We have been at Friendship for 4 years now. The teachers are wonderful, but the lack of direction from the administration has the school traveling down a non-academic path. We have been disappointed with the "Wellness" initiative, and will be going to a school that focuses on academics in the future.
