My son did a accelerated summer program to finish freshman English before his freshman year to start working towards graduating early. When we turned in the transcript showing he completed it, the counselor said,"We will have to accept it as an elective credit." The belief is like no child left behind, no child should get ahead either.

My son goes to Buckeye and is involved in several extra-curricular activities. He loves the FFA/ag. program. He is in honor classes and plays varsity sports. This administration is great and supports both teachers and students.

I went to BUHS and just graduated may 2013. This school is amazing. however all schools have their flaws, as well as teachers. Athletics are strongly supported, while the fine arts are thrown aside and put on the farthest back burner possible. I was involved in theatre, marching band, concert band, and choir. It was great except we couldn't buy new music, over 100 instruments were broken and we couldn't buy or repair them. There are many wonderful teachers however there are a few who are rude to students. most of those have retired. Admin listens, but you must be active about it. bug admin until they listen to you don't stop until they do!!

I'm giving a 2 stars. We have moved out to this area from the Mesa area. In Mesa there were many many programs for my child who is on an IEP. There is almost nothing here for her. No clubs etc. She can only go until lunch because of the lack of funds for an aide. So far the staff has been very nice and are trying to best meet her needs. I think I'm still in shock over the difference in schools in the valley. Hopefully next yr will be better.

I currently have 4 high schoolers at Buckeye Union. I have one that is on an IEP, 2 in honors classes, and 1 mainstream. The school as a whole gives lots of opportunities for sports, music and band, as well as theater for students to express themselves. My only complaint is that although I see the administration at the sporting activities, I don't believe the arts are as supported as they should be.

about 20 years ago I found a high school red ring with a big "B" on it. It is a gold ring. I put it away and lost it at home. A few years ago i went through a divorce and found it in my junk. It has the year 1993 on it. Maybe you can locate the owner. I am sure he or she would like to get it back. Bennie Dimas 1 209 969 2808. I live in northen California now. The ring also has some initials on it for who ever claims it. Thank you and please get back to me.
