It's my son's first year of school 2021 the school assistant principal would only come up to me when I would come early to pick up my child who needs assistance walking to the car his not aware of danger all kids get dismissed when the bell rings she gave me a warning not to come early it didn't make sense but it's the rules. Not even 1 week later we get a notice that they are switching my child to another school they weren't very understanding it was just totally random decision they made. My child was perfectly fine here he loves his teachers it takes a while for kids with autism to get adjusted they weren't very understanding of that they just wanted us to go. The teachers are nice the staff I interacted with while picking up my child were nice. The only thing that is worrisome is the pickup line and rules they shouldn't dismiss all the kids outside when the bell rings not everyone is the same but accidents can happen the school is right next to the freeway/feeder you would think it would be common sense bc not all teachers are strong enough to hold onto kids who are runners or try wandering off.

The lady at the front desk when you walk in is really nice and very helpful. She's always in a good mood.

My child is currently attending this school. Curriculum is behind compared to other schools in the same district. Slim to No family involved activities go on, No Communication between teachers and parents until the situation has gone out of control.. Its terrible. My daughter is in 1st grade and if I could, we would mover her NOW

I did not have a favorable personal experience in this school concerning learning accommodations for educational advancement

Worst experience of my life at the expense of my kids education. 17 staff members left last year. Children are being retained instead of educated, better just save up money and go private or travel ten miles south into College Station. Based on my 2013-14 experience, they like to use RTI for an entire school year rather than identify a dyslexic child.

Great school. Our daughter attended this school from first to fourth grade. We are very happy with it.

One of my children had gone to 4 different elementary schools, because of moving and choosing to do one year private school. Sam Houston has been by far the best school she ever attended. The teachers are all extraordinary, the principal and staff are friendly. Everyone has the best interest in your child. I have personally met one on one with the principal, vice principal, and teachers and all my meeting have been great. I have mentioned more than once to other parents that this school has a great "private school" feel to it. This school also has one of the biggest parent involvement of elementary schools in Bryan.

I had a child at Sam Houston Elementary for four years, through the leadership change in 2008. Our experience was consistently very positive. The teaching in the classrooms was excellent. The principal is very concerned about the children, involved in school activities, and very approachable. All of the administrative staff were quite supportive and helpful. My child was on a 504 and her special needs were met beautifully. She made excellent progress while there. We had homeschooled for years, so my standards were/are very high, but we were very pleased with this school!
