I’ve had three kids at Meridian over a 10 year period. When we started, the administrators were phenomenal and it truly felt like a top notch school. Over the years, each change in leadership staff has left us more and more disappointed. Great teachers keep leaving and subpar teachers never leave. As someone stated before, you can either have the most wonderful teacher, or one that causes your child to hate school. More recently, changes have been made to recesses. Instead of finding a middle ground and being willing to have a conversation the Principle shot down parent concerns and assured them nothing changed from previous years which couldn’t be farther from the truth. You’re better off going to Coyote Ridge or a local charter school.

What an incredible elementary school with dedicated teachers and staff who take a genuine interest in every student. Meridian’s goal is to know every single student by name, strength and need and we have always felt that in the way our kids have been supported. We love Meridian.

We chose this school over some of the charter schools that my son got accepted too because community was important to us. We have now been here for 5 years and I could not be happier. Each year I fall more in love with the school and community. Seeing all the friendly faces at drop off greeting my child by name, reminds me that I made the right decision sending my child here! Not only has my son been challenged academically but grown socially and emotionally in the last few years! We love the teachers, staff, admin, and community! Strongly recommend Meridian!

Couldn’t be more thrilled with Meridian. From the first moment my oldest started school here, it was obvious how much the teachers and staff truly care about our kids. Great communication. Awesome admin and front office staff. My kids love to learn. They feel supported. It feels like a family. Can’t say enough good things about Meridian!

This school is phenomenal. The teachers go above and beyond to create a positive and enriching learning environment for the students. I have four children who have been at the school so I have first hand experience with a large percentage of the teachers, administrators and staff. My older children started school at another elementary and we were blown away by how much better Meridian was than the other school. One my children didn't qualify for any extra services, but was able to receive speech therapy to help him. I had other teachers who tutored my children over the summers. I had teachers who created the best ALP's (Advanced Learning Plans) for my GT child and made sure he was progressing at the same rate as the other students even though he was several grade levels ahead. The specials teachers (PE, Music, Art, and Tech) also go above and beyond it making their subjects fun for the kids. They also offer extracurricular opportunities that are fun for the kids. The office staff and administration are helpful and easy to work with. The school has an incredible sense of community.

Based on the teachers we received, our experience was the worst we could imagine for our child. She currently attends another school and it's a much better fit. She is now learning so much more.

Currently we would rate it a 10/10. We love our child’s first grade teacher! We also loved our kindergarten teacher a few years ago. However, after our experience with kindergarten last year (2018-19) we were strongly considering leaving this school. Happy we didn’t as we are currently very happy with all of our children’s teachers. I wish administration could find a way to get rid of that kindergarten teacher who is still there. As with any school, it’s the teacher that can make or break your child’s school year. We have had wonderful teachers for 4 of our years there, and only one year of a really negative experience with a teacher.

Two of the teachers my son struggled with was the gym teacher and the music teacher. I cant believe the PE teacher still has her job. I later found out these two teachers are good friends so it is understandable why they ganged up on my son. My son dreaded going to both these classes. Can you imagine a 9 year old boy dreading PE, yup that is the atmosphere she created. She used manipulation and scare tactics to control my son and that did not work so she just belittled and embarrassed him as did the the music teacher. When I emailed the new so-called Principal, we set up a meeting and she tried to turn it around on me.

It was a great school, but now all hard work from previous administration was ruined. Last administration was forced out due to a false accusation from a teacher, who is still there. She ruined such a great setup for kids especially ones with a need in supportive services.

Best public school my son has ever been to. The teachers are great, the parents and students are fantastic. This school is in such a tight community that I never want to leave, I look forward to both my kids attending this school for years to come.

Our daughter is just completing 1st grade and we've been so pleased this year. In fact, our experience far exceeded the one with private school she attended previously. Her teacher, Ms. Thompson is a rare gem and we feel so fortunate to have had her teach our daughter. She will be missed but we look forward to another great year in 2nd grade. Excellent experiences with most all the staff as well. Fantastic school!

Fantastic staff! Every interaction I've had has been more than positive. The teachers and staff genuinely care about the students. They are all kind and quick to respond. I'm very impressed and love this school.

I feel like all of the staff know my children, even if they haven't been their full time teacher. The administration knows who I am and I feel like I can speak with them about my children and teachers freely. It is an exceptionally safe environment.

This is the third elementary school our children have attended as we have relocated a few times. This is an excellent run school that starts with a very engaged and caring principal. While I am surprised that more school ballots have not passed which limits the resources of the district, I believe Meridian does everything it can to provide the best education possible to our children. The school also has many great activities and parents/students that get involved.

We are new this year to Meridian. We have two very wonderful teachers for our children. I could not be more pleased. The problem we have with the school is the principal. My husband and I were at the school and heard him bad mouth some of his teachers to parents. I have never been a teacher, but it seems to me this is NOT the way to run a school. I can only imagine how he treats his staff if this is how he acts with parents. He is the most unprofessional administrator I have ever encountered.

My son started mid year in Kindergarten. Previously he was in an out of state expensive private school. Meridian blows my mind with how much they offer. It is better then the school my son previously attended. The kids are kind and the teachers and staff caring. I couldn't have asked for a better school.

Meridian Elementary has been a wonderful choice for us. The staff works so well together to offer great programs and paths for achievement at so many levels. The principal is very focused on safety and community. It shows in all the school does.

I was lucky enough to send both of my children to Meridian Elementary. I felt that every teacher cared about my children and pushed them to be the best student they could. I was very happy with the administration and faculty for the way the school was run.

Meridian Elementary is a fabulolus school and my children were well educated by caring teachers. They are well on their way to becoming 21st Century learners and have taken their love of learning into middle school with them. Thank goodness the teachers at Meridian do not have children 'rote memorize' math facts like we did 20 years ago! Children are encouraged and guided to find the best possible way to learn their math facts using the Everyday Math curriculum. Meridian Elementary has a very caring, very supportive parent community and a fabulous PTO. Like any school, there can be personality differences with teachers and administration, but nothing gets in the way of the amazing education Meridian Elementary provides. Meridian has earned its 9 out of 10 ranking!!
