I am not agree with this low rating regarding this school . This is a great place for new coming people and people born here . My daughter started this school in 2017 and graduated in 2020 sho is college student now. The teachers are the best in FDR high school great environment for kids who want to study and be successful. Thank you all teachers and school team for everything ! You are the best !

This school, feels like a dessert in the middle of nowhere. And that's what it is. First of all. It's hard to make good friends, that aren't racist. And I'm not even black. Second of all when you graduate everyone is going to separate. And you will never hear from them any more. And becarful who you date, the men hear tend to ruin life's and send you to a mental institution. Also when you visit, there going to act like they don't even know you. The teachers I mean. What I was trying to look for. A guidens counsolor that can guideeee. Your life. God forbid your in a cross roads. Better friends that would stay in your life. And none jerky ex boyfriends or peers

The school as a whole is not bad, but the quality of the some teachers they used needs to be improved, especially those in Chinese Language Department. Most of those Chinese teachers have very serious accents, very strange attitudes and they are very unprofessional. It is difficult for me to understand how they manage to include English, Chinese and Cantonese in one sentence, which largely reflects their unprofessionalism. As a Chinese student myself, I don't think I can learn anything from that class. I went to the guidance office to apply for changing my teacher, but I was refused because they said that they didn't have the right to do so, which is very suspicious since that what a guidance could do. (If you are one of the current student, you probably know who I'm taking about)I won't recommend this school if you think you might need any help during your school life from your guidance office, but to be honest someone student I know can actually switch their class and teacher, so maybe I just the unlucky one.Still the environment of the school is not bad, in my opinion most of the teacher where not bad too.

We’ve been in quarantine for more than 3 months and seniors have been declared as graduates. Doing so, we have not received our diplomas, awards, scholarships, transcripts, or any refund the school owes us. It is now July 20th and Katz is worried about learning in September instead of finishing where she left us off. She does not care about her students and could definitely care less about her graduates since she won’t come across them again and we have no way to contact her or the school since they don’t answer emails and the school office is “closed”. Katz has never cared about the environment created at the school and has never cared about the concerns about her students. It is ridiculous that 2020 seniors have to be put through this when we’re already starting Summer college courses online and have no proof of graduation.

Overall do not take low reviews as a warning sign. Half the students here don't know English so of course they're going to fail tests. Any school will make you bad if you let it. FDR is no exception. With the multitude of sports programs and clubs it's very easy to get distracted. Maany kids cut class. Don't rely on the teachers to teach you teach yourself. This is basically sums up my first year at FDR. The kids are pretty cool and many of them are like me and want to succeed., however a good 20% of the school doesn't care and can cut class on the regular. As a parent keep tabs on your kids at this school. It's very easy for them to get pulled under. The girls at this school are very fast and act way above their ages. You probably catch what I'm saying. Overall it's been a decent year. My average has never dipped below a 90.

Parent Beware. Do not send your child here if you want them to be safe.

I am grateful to teachers, my daughter learned a lot from them, especially AP classes taken on Chemistry and Calculus helped her in college. My daughter did know English well when she came to US but in 2 years she was accepted by more than 10 universities. My sons is also a student at FDR, and he is doing well.
