I have two children attending here (TK and 3rd) and I can not stress how much of a wonderful experience we are having! I love the involvement of the teachers and staff and the teachers go above and beyond to make sure our children are well educated and meet each grade curriculum.

Our son has been there for 16 months now and has had a fantastic experience through the magnet school program.

we decided to transfer our son here for kindergarten when we found out that laurel became a STEAM magnet school. It has been a wonderful experience with so much hands on learning, technology, critical thinking, and partnerships from the community to teach students about the real world in an applied manner. The staff is so connected from kindergarten all the way to 6th and the principal is the cherry on top. She is amazing and involved and is really invested in each student.

Love our school and love our staff! We could not have chosen a better school for our children! All of the staff (teachers, support staff, administration, etc.) really care about our school and our children! THAT is what makes the difference!

2015 - New principal, new PTA! This is our principals first year in her position and she is FANTASTIC! You would never guess that she hasn't been doing it for ages! She is fun, listens to anything and everything you have to say (happy, angry, or sad) and runs our current and new programs the way they need to be run! She is a great start to getting our school turned around for a better future! Our new PTA board has done tremendous things for the school and after school programs! They are working hard to get more parents involved and raise as much money as possible for the school to purchase new technology to help our kids and are always nice and welcoming! There is no feeling that any one group or person is better than another and you get a real feeling of community at this school (which is more than I can say for other Brea schools!). We are VERY happy with this school and can't wait to see how much better this school becomes!

Ihave 2 children that have both have atttened Laurel since Kinder. Both have scored extremely high on state testing. One is now in High School (all honors classes) and my younger child is in 6th grade. I love this school and the teachers are awesome! The teachers have always been open and friendly. Yes over all this school has low test scores there are many reasons for this NOT just english as a second learners (and those students imporve every year as well). We have a high turn over in students do to some families personal reasons. I would not send my children to any other elementary school in Brea! Love the community and staff. This year we have a new principal with so much energy and enthusiasm! What a wonderful last year in elementary.

My school is Laurel Elementary School. I have two children whom attend this school and my experience has not been great. Out of a combine total of 7 years I can only say there s has only been one great teacher and that is Mrs. Niece. She actually cares for her students and will listen to parents concerns. It seems every other teacher doesn't care about their students and will not give parents the time of day to address issues or concerns. The principal is the exact same way. She is very short with parents. Whenever I would try to speak to her I felt rushed. I strongly do not recommend this school. This is the lowest ranked school in Brea due to the test scores which are blamed on students (English second language students). The school doesn't have parent cooperation because when they try to be involved it s almost always have been unpleasant.

I have a 4th Grader and have had a son go thru all 7 years here at this school. The teachers are very dedicated and caring. Our test scores are right up there with the other schools in Brea. My Son is entering Highschool next year above average and just got in to the IT academy there!
