This school exhibits a disturbing level of racial discrimination. When my child had an accident during a school recess, no one assisted him or took him to the school nurse. The child, despite an injury, had to go there alone, where only ice packs were provided. Due to the nurse's negligent observation, the child, with an open fracture and bleeding, received only ice treatment until the parents arrived. The school showed no concern for the child's well-being post-accident and failed to inform us about missed lessons or assignments during his absence unless we inquired. This communication issue extends beyond this incident.Upon the child's return, we submitted a doctor's note stating he couldn't participate in PE activities due to the injury. Despite the evidence, the PE teacher demanded another doctor's note, requiring a return to the office to resolve the matter. The school's communication system is inadequate, and there is a lack of effort to address issues. There was another incident that happened recently. My child was falsely accused and the teacher never listend to my child but instead repeatedly asking 'Did you do it?' 9 times and did not believe him. School's inadequate investigation was very disconcerting. This attitude was evident when the child received detention, preventing him from attending the school's last-week party, a fact we learned when the child returned home in tears. Despite seeking assistance from the school district, nothing was resolved. The investigation started over two months after the incident on the last week of school. The main issue was the lack of effective communication, and still the school district did not contact us even after the incident was concluded. Despite our child attending this school for six years since kindergarten, the attitude we encountered was incredibly rude and irresponsible.Despite filing a report with the school district, nothing was resolved. Instead, we received a formal report, essentially documenting the facts we were already aware of. They even denied that their attitude towards resolving the incident was discriminatory, refusing to acknowledge their mistakes. Particularly, the teachers showed favoritism towards certain students, leaving my child traumatized, viewing 'teachers' as people who don't believe in himselves. This incident occurred to my child who is only in fifth grade this year. If you are considering sending your child to this school, I strongly recommend reconsidering.

We have a few of our children that went through the entire school system. From Kinder to 6th, all of the teachers have been great. Compassionate, thoughtful, hands on, and tech savvy for most of the staff. During the Covid at-home lessons, teachers were wonderful in how they plan their lessons and kept the kids motivated. Education is something I believe the teachers are really solid here. Cleaning crew keeps the campus clean, and they are also very nice to all the kids and parents. Front office staff, superb. I want to give them a solid 5 star rating with how they manage all the hustle and bustle of the school. Child-Care after school staff were also very nice. Note, pre school and kinder program is only half day here at this school. So in order to have your child at this school for a full day, you would need to sign up with Child Care that is on campus. The campus is open campus, but because it's located in a tight knit community, it feels safe. The PE Teachers do a good job of watching over the kids, and making sure they stay on school grounds. The one star drop is for the current Principal (Mrs. Lopez) who is not exactly the most patient, and seems to be abrupt with things. Her demeanor and overall attitude with the kids is more strict, and not as patient as the previous Principals. The previous one (Mrs. Walsh) was much better for adapting to the kids, and would be more welcoming to parent's concerns.

There is NO perfect school, but Country Hills has a wonderful & caring principal, teachers & staff who care about the well-being of all kids!

Our overall experience has been great. The faculty and staff are caring and available which helps provide a very personal learning experience. The PTA and school provide a variety of programs that are educational and the students really enjoy. Both of our children have thrived at the school. Very pleased to be at Country Hills.

Average and a bit disappointing as quality had steadily decreased over the years.

Not great at all. Chaos from the parking lot to the classroom to the playground to the school office.

I have had children at Country Hills since 2013. I am extremely happy with the principal, Mrs. Walsh. She is involved with the students (she knows them by name), PTA and staff. I feel my children are getting a well rounded education at Country Hills. The teachers are supportive and available to address any issues. I am thankful my children attend Country Hills.

I've had three children go through country hills from kindergarten on up, my youngest is in first grade, my second is in sixth grade and my oldest is in 8th grade. We have never had anything but the most amazing, supportive teachers, and my kids have thrived there. The PTA and parent involvement is healthy and super supportive, it truly is a community that comes together. I love our little school!

Our girls are thriving at Country Hill. With a focus on character and academics I could not be happier at this school!

I have two children in Country Hills Elementary and I love it. I have had two teachers go above and beyond for my older child who has struggled with academics. The leadership is top notch and they are always looking for ways to improve our school. The PTA is filled with parents who care so much about our students education and their overall experience at school.

Excellent over all. The teachers do an excellent job catering to each individual child's strengths and weaknesses. Mrs. Walsh is very proactive in each child's education. All of the rest of the staff is so pleasant - much like a family. The diversity of the school is like none other I've been a part of. If I could give some constructive criticism it would be for more involvement from the rest of the parents (not the same 15 or so volunteering at EVERY event) and a tad more security. A gate around the the school buildings (not necessarily the park) would be a plus. But of course Measure K failed for a second time - get it together, Brea. Otherwise, I couldn't imagine my children attending any school more wonderful than Country Hills.

My children attended Country Hills for 2 years. As a parent and a teacher, I was appalled by the principal, Robert Rendon, and his lack of leadership. The teachers do try their very best, but this school is a sinking ship without a captain. We were unimpressed with the Brea Olinda School District and would not reccommend it to anyone.

BREA Country Hills Elementary School is VERY overcrowded with class sizes exceeding 30 students per teacher. Many of the students and families transfer into BOUSD without actually living in Brea, because they work in this small city and get a exemption. This creates disconnected parents and a strange overall vibe where people are lined up for miles in their Big SUV's to pick up their kids, and off they go back to Anaheim, Placentia or some other OC burb where they lack any involvement or spirit.. California schools are broke, and so is BOUSD, the admin department and teacher seem stretched and many teachers here seem overwhelmed and can only focus on teaching CA core standards and not much else. Do the research before you place your kids in Country Hills Elementary school,

The "safety" measures they have in place are to lock the doors at the start of school. Yet, I was able to enter my child's class room by knocking on the door. A child let me in without hesitation, and no adult was supervising the class what so ever. Apparently the teacher left to run a quick errand.

It is my sons first year attending Brea Country Hills Elementary. As a parent I expected a lot more from a school located in such a good area. The lack of fencing and staff supervision is an obvious safety issue for the students. My son has two teachers in an overcrowded classroom and none of the students seem to get the attention they deserve. There are no crossing guards present on the Country Hills side of the school which makes it unsafe for small children who are allowed to walk home alone. I have also noticed that some teachers don't monitor who their students leave with at all when school is over. Overall, I am extremely dissapointed with my experience here and this school does not come close to what we were used to before moving to Brea.
