Many reviewers are correct when they tout the excellence of the school. However, it is the classical Christian model that is excellent, rather than the administration of that model. Classical education teaches critical thinking, logical reasoning, rhetoric, philosophy and a biblical worldview. It’s the best possible education for discipleship. Classical education gives children the tools they need to combat the propaganda, moral relativism and the perversion of our culture and times. However, this school has a perfectionist model which has lent itself to pride. The administration can critique, but cannot receive feedback well. They treat parents as if they could not possibly possess valued insights when they come to them with concerns. They don’t problem solve, truly listen, consider ways to improve, or to grow, look for paths forward, or are solution oriented. They never apologize, regardless of how glaring the misstep. They simply recite their rehearsed rhetoric and send you on your way. It’s their way or the highway. They call themselves experts all the time and act as if they have no room for growth. Yet, many teachers and administrators do not have a background in education, or a higher education at all, or any professional experience beyond the walls of the school. On one occasion, I brought forward a concern and experienced an adhomonym attack, a red herring, and whataboutism logical fallacies, all in one setting. That’s not professional, or good customer service, or representative of a brand that espouses to combat such flawed ways of navigating the world. The education is good, but the pride, the pride, the pride. If you attend you won’t be sorry, but you will have to overlook a lot. Pray for the school and the prideful leadership. Humility is not one of the virtues promoted by the school, but it’s the only virtue that must be present for any of the other virtues to exist.

I cannot say enough good things about Providence. We spent one year here before moving to another state. The teachers are diligent and kind and care deeply about not only very high academic success but also the character of the children. I had three kids a Providence all with very different learning styles and very different interests, and I felt that each one was not only taught well but appreciated and challenged to do better!! I was hesitant in any school change for my kids. But this was one of the best decisions we made. If you’re considering Providence you will be welcome and your children will be cared for! Thank you Providence for our time at your school. We feel blessed to have spent even a short time there.

My son attends this school and it holds true to it's mission. The foundation is on strong Christian values. If you are looking for a Pre-K through 12 grade school with strong academics and educates with a Biblical worldview, consider Providence Classical Christian School.

We put our children (boy, girl twins) in Providence Classical Christian School in the 6th grade after attending a much smaller Christian School near our home. We had known of Providence since before our children were even born (went to our first open house when they were 6 months old) and had hoped this smaller school would eventually grow to be what Providence currently is. After realizing that wasn’t happening while our children were of school age, we decided to enroll them at Providence even though we live 32 miles away and did not know any families currently there. We have no regrets and it was quickly evident this was the best decision for our family. Our children entered Providence academically behind and one of our children has a mild learning disability. The classroom teacher that year was incredible and spent a lot of time communicating to me and working with me so we could help our children succeed. Their classmates (and students in other grades above and below) welcomed them and our children felt right at home very quickly. I volunteered there as much as I could while balancing a full time job so that I could get a feel for the culture of the school. What a blessing it was to see the same values and beliefs being taught at home followed up in the place they spend so much of their time. We are now in our third year at Providence and continue to be impressed with not only what our children are learning academically but also the life lessons that Providence teaches while instilling personal responsibility. We can now say, our children will be well prepared for college. Their friendships there continue to deepen and we can honestly say their teachers are top notch; hard working, dedicated, and love our children! We hope more families check out Providence to see for themselves what an amazing school this is.

Excellent experience at Providence. We're believers in the Providence product. Our oldest three so far attend. Despite differing personalities, they all love each day of class - learning, teachers, friends and activities. If you are a Christian family looking for a distinctively Christian way to educate your children, give Providence a try.

SCORE: 1/5. We deeply regret sending our kids (one elementary and one high school) to this to this school for the 2016-2017 school year. The actual education our children received was not exceptional. There wFrom the first day there were problems for both kids. The elementary staff refused small reasonable accommodations for our child’s learning issues (reduce copy work and writing demands to accommodate dyspraxia). It took a month to reach agreement. Worse, my child’s teacher was overheard bad-mouthing my child, by name, in public spaces of the school. My accelerated, gifted high schooler was singled out by the Bible teacher. He disclosed to my child’s classmates that my child was 2 years younger than them during the first week of school. This engendered a significant animosity. The peers were never physically or verbally abusive. But, they shunned my child, which was mean and failed to reflect the Christian character espoused by the school. This Bible teacher (an uncertificated teacher) also targeted my child and claimed my child failed to complete the Bible teacher’s assignments correctly. After weeks of this happening repeatedly, I personally attempted one of his assignments (read the text, answer the questions based on the reading). I’m a lawyer. I am used to such an assignment. My work matched my child’s work. I asked the teacher to articulate the deficiencies in my child’s work. He failed/refused to do so. The school headmaster knew that my older child was applying for a college. He agreed to write a reference for my child’s application. The headmaster did not give me any reason to know he was uncomfortable recommending my child. All other references provided me with copies of their recommendations, which were glowing. After the college rejected my child’s application, the college told me the rejection resulted from a negative reference they received. Since I had all the other references, I knew the negative reference was from the headmaster. The professional thing the headmaster should have done was to explain to me his personal discomfort with writing the recommendation. As a Christian parent, the most upsetting thing about the Bible teacher and headmaster’s behavior is that it has led my child to a crisis of faith. My child asks, if these are men of God who profess Christ and treat me unkind, what good is it to be a Christian? My child looked at the school’s treatment of the younger sibling (bad-mouthing by the teacher in public) as yet more evidence of the falsity of Christianity. I think this closed social environment made it very difficult for our children to integrate. The majority of classmates did not welcome or integrate my children into school life.

My daughter has attended Providence for 3 years. Every year she enjoys it more and more, as she gets to know her classmates and teachers on deeper levels. She feels she belongs, knows what to expect, and is therefore able to learn and grow in a extremely supportive environment. We are very thankful for this school.

Providence provides a discipleship environment for Christian children that is nurturing and academically challenging. Like all schools, your child's experience will depend greatly on the teacher. Fortunately, Providence has committed teachers who set a peaceful and growing environment that promotes godly character and academic excellence.

We have two children at Providence. Initially what attracted our family to the school was the classical education. The school stress logic and reasoning which is sorely lacking in today's educational system. The academic standards are rigorous and the curriculum incorporates God's perspective in all things. The class sizes are small enough for students to get individual attention. We love that the students wear uniforms and the entire 200 plus student body has Psalm sing at the beginning of each school day. If that wasn't enough what truly makes this school unique is the feel! Older students interact with younger ones like they are part of a big family. Boys open door, girls are snack servants. Teachers are engaging and have command of the classroom. There is tremendous parent participation and camaraderie. Faculty, administration and the Board either have children or have had children that attend school so there is an added level of investment. I highly recommend visiting a class and you will immediately notice what makes this school special! Providence is truly "a different kind of christian school"!

We have been blown away by the quality of the education at Providence. It is such a blessing to have our son in such a loving, Godly environment. He is not only growing and learning academically but spiritually as well. As soon as we attended the open house and saw what these kids were doing we knew that this was the school for our son. We also love that it goes through 12th grade so that he will be able to stay at this wonderful school throughout his school years.

My children started at PCCS last year in PreK and K. We had a great first year and couldn't be happier with the transition from PreK to K during this school year. The commitment of the administration and faculty to my child is extraordinary. I am extremely grateful for PCCS.

Our 4 children are now in their second year at Providence, and our family has so many positive things to communicate about our experience there. We are impressed with the content and the methods of education, the sincerity of the faculty, the welcoming culture of the community, and the excellent opportunities our children are receiving, including routine practice in public speaking, instruction in Latin, thorough exposure to great literature, art club, superb music programs, etc. Go to Providence for a visit during the school day... That helped us make up our minds.

My three children attend here and are surrounded by God's love and grace daily through the people who teach and serve here. Their minds are challenged and their hearts cared for. It truly exceeds my expectations year after year.
