Both of my children attended RCE. My son started in Pre-K and graduated from 5th and my daughter started in Kinder and graduated 5th. The consistency of the staff (hardly any turnover), the love and safety my children felt and the knowledge they obtained exceeded our expectations. RCE gave my children a firm educational foundation that has set them up for a very successful continued education. The extra clubs they attended, musical instruments they learned, STEM lessons, challenging specials all gave my kids and other students so many opportunities for growth and advancement. Holiday celebrations, field trips, outdoor learning centers anything/everything was done to challenge and engage every student. The community involvement (the Foxes Trot 5K run, Red Cedar Stew prep day) and events that the PTO support show the students and families that the school is more than just for education. The school building and the staff that show up every day love the kids and want them to succeed. When my kids see teachers outside of the building, it's exciting. Thank you Dr. Corley and staff for creating a safe, fun place for learning.

Both of my children are graduates of Red Cedar. The school strives to encourage all learners and had an amazing gifted and talented AND special education program. Students who need learning supports receive them, and students who need an academic push receive it too. My children were very prepared to enter middle school.

Two of my children attended school here; one between grades 3-5 and the other for PK-1. This school partners with families to teach respect and accountability, where many schools shy away and fall short. Teachers inform and include parents on the daily and I feel like I grew as a parent while my children attended this school from the benefit of the partnership offered. Dr. Corley recruits a staff of teachers whose hearts are invested in the education of children and they all strive to truly do “whatever it takes”. Students benefit from a discovery mindset and academic subjects are layered within a STEM-based, and Project-based approach that immerses the school itself into the surrounding community, respecting and being inclusive of students of color, those of various abilities, backgrounds, races, creeds, etc. Students are safe at this school. Rules and procedures exist for a reason here and are followed to that purpose. We were sad to leave this school where little minds and hearts are nurtured.

Both of my grandchildren attend Red Cedar Elementary and have been attending since Kindergarten. One will be in fifth grade next year and one will be in third. They love the school and all of their teachers. Both have been blessed with the caring and nurturing environment at Red Cedar. The teachers really care about the students. They go beyond the classroom by attending student activities outside the school. My grandchildren know they are cherished and loved at school. My next three granddaughters already are excited to attend.

I have been fortunate to have three children graduate from Red Cedar, all of whom benefited from its remarkable culture. The education they received can't be overstated, but what set this school apart was the support they received, the immense care taken to work with each child as an individual, and the overall culture of excellence, caring and kindness. The foundation of all of this is their principal, Dr. Corley, but each teacher builds on it and takes ownership of their students' experience.

This is a great school. Both my children excelled and grew in all aspects of their elementary years, even through the COVID years. They are better prepared for life because were nurtured in the Red Cedar environment!

Red Cedar is a school where high expectations and goals are held for all staff and students. It is a school where teachers and staff work together with students and families to identify the ways to make each individual successful. Every student literally has a team of people who get to know them and who care about their wellbeing -- including academic, social/emotional, and physical growth. When considering what is best for a student, it is not uncommon for special area teachers (music, dance, etc.), administrators, current and past teachers, and support staff such as the guidance counselor, school social worker, and assistants who interact with the student at lunch, recess, and before/after school to all jump in to provide assistance and ideas. There is a true sense of community, where each staff member sees ALL of the children as "their" responsibility. Academic growth and progress is at the forefront of goals, and teachers study and implement many different strategies and resources to ensure students are engaged and meet with success. The vision of the school is to look for students' strengths and to build on those. This helps to guarantee that a student's emotional, social, and psychological wellness and growth are also addressed. Teachers at this school recognize that a child who is struggling with other concerns will not be able to focus on learning, and they take measures to address what a child needs to be successful. The school motto, "Whatever it takes", reflects this attitude of seeing and caring for the whole child. Finally, what tops off the excellent teaching, learning, and collaboration between all stakeholders is a school environment that feels safe and consistent, but that also embraces fun. There are many opportunities for students to be involved during the school day, as well as before and after school. Student performances, student artwork displays, music playing in the hallways, and special events are the norm. Substitutes who work in buildings across the area often comment on how pleasant the environment and the students are at Red Cedar, and how much they enjoy coming to work in this school. It is a special place, and I feel fortunate to be a part of it.

Red Cedar Elementary's motto,"Whatever It Takes" is more than a slogan. It is a belief system held by creative and caring teachers, administrators, staff, parents, and students working together for a common goal--student success. The strong sense of community can be seen in classrooms where teachers work tirelessly to connect learning to real life, in the hallways where visitors are greeted by smiling students and staff while music plays in the background and math problems are posted on the walls. It can be felt as students cheer for each other at assemblies and at special events like the annual kickball game or the Drum and Dance performances. Students are recognized for academics as well as being role models, showing compassion, empathy, and respect. Red Cedar Elementary has been recognized as a Pametto's Finest Award winner, an honor that is well-deserved.

I love working alongside teachers and administration who foster creativity, individuality, and passion in their students. We do whatever it takes to make sure that our students are growing in character as well as in knowledge. My three children love coming to school each day and are growing in their academic, social, and emotional skills. I’m so happy that they are given the chance to attend this school.

All three of my children have had a wonderful and caring experience at this school. Who doesn’t believe in fair treatment or thorough, collaborative approaches to education with enrichment experiences for all children with the goal being growth? This school and dedicated teachers are all of these things and I’m thankful for it.

Red Cedar is hands down the best elementary school in Bluffton. All three of my children have attended Red Cedar and have been taught to be respectful, leaders in the community, and strive for academic excellence all while having fun! The environment is welcoming for all students and the majority of teachers go above and beyond to ensure all children experience success. Parents are expected to be involved and held accountable. The school leadership clearly communicates expectations for teachers, students and parents. The staff does whatever it takes to help students feel and experience success all while ensuring their safety and wellbeing. I would highly recommend this school.

Red Cedar Elementary has high expectations for the students as well as the teachers. Students are motivated to learn and teachers are motivated to help every student succeed. Student behavior is exceptional wherever you are in the building. There are 14 before and after school clubs that further motivate students. This is an arts infused school and the arts are used to engage students. In my opinion this is an excellent school.

I have two children at Red Cedar and I wouldn’t have them at any other school. The teachers are phenomenal and the overall school spirit is infectious. Both my children have excelled academically and love going to school every day. My family is proud to be a Fox family.

Red Cedar goes above and beyond to create a learning experience that nurtures the whole child. Yes, they have great test scores, but they also ensure students feel successful throughout their school life whether it is math, music, or sports (or beyond) that excite them! My daughters are the excellent people they are in part because of their time at Red Cedar!

This school has been incredible! The teachers, administration and overall morale is such a blessing to our three boys. Not only are they excelling in school but they are also learning fundamental life lessons about respect, leadership, discipline and kindness and many other qualities that are so important as they develop into young men. Dr. Corley is awesome and not only holds our children accountable but us parents too, it’s a team effort here and we can’t say enough great things about our experience thus far!

I can’t believe how this school still exist, the teachers are so rude, the don’t help the children’s at all, when my son got bullied, the teachers did nothing at all, my child gets in trouble for the worst reasons. I can’t even explain how shocked I was when my child got in trouble because of a stupid reason.

We moved here from NC where my kids were at a 10 rated school, we are more impressed by Red Cedar- I can't believe Red Cedar is only a 7! It's a dynamic school! My kids absolutely love it there, the staff is fantastic, the principal Dr Corley is completely involved and knows how to run a school. They have a lot of extra activities in the arts that other schools are doing away with which I feel is so important for children. They have a healthy approach to homework and they are very aware of each child's strengths and weaknesses and the right way to encourage them. We honestly could not be happier.
