My daughter is in all advanced classes and she gets a lot of homework but here peers that are not in advanced get a little less homework. My daughter said some teachers are nice but others are not, some were talking about how a student will never out talk a teacher they also said that they accept late work but at this moment they have not put in the grades. They do not teach about leadership at this school that I have heard of. They push a lot of social skills to students but students do not listen that much. The teachers do not wait for slower students they keep going and thats how a lot of work accumulates. Yes I have not heard that there has ever been bullying at this school. I think this school is overall good but could be better. Thank you for your time

As a parent of a 6th grader coming from Okatie Elementary, I was very nervous about the move to Bluffton Middle. If you're a mom in Bluffton you have undoubtedly heard horror stories of "public" schools, especially the middle schools. Well, after 6 wonderful years in public elementary school I can honestly say the transition has been just as great! My child is in all advanced classes, she has joined clubs and made new friends. I have found most teachers to be willing and happy to speak with me and address any concerns quickly. The pick-up line in the afternoon runs smoothly, which is a nice bonus! All in all, I am impressed with the school and would not hesitate to recommend it for any child who thrives in a competitive and diverse environment!

My daughter began attending BLMS this year and came from Okatie Elementary. We weren't sure what to expect initially as middle school is a big transition for all kids and parents in terms of physical and emotional development. My daughter is a Duke Tip scholar and is in all the accelerated classes offered. I have been incredibly impressed with her teachers and she is incredibly happy in this school!! I heard that it was difficult to get involved and that communication was lacking between the school and parents but found out quickly that if YOU (parents) make an effort and reach out, these teachers will respond, even on a weekend. They are sensitive and kind and truly want the best for their students. I volunteer at the school as well. Parents: PLEASE VOLUNTEER. Get involved. These teachers appreciate your participation and welcome you. Your child will be thrilled to see you there and kids who have parents who show up, don't give up! Check your parent portal! Send an email to the teacher just to check in. Back up your teaching team, don't let your child make excuses!! GREAT School!
