Gateway Montessori School is a friendly caring school with qualified and caring staff who love their students just like they were their own.Great Montessori Philosophy in all classrooms including infants!Come to Gateway for a wonderful learning experience in a safe and loving environment!

Gateway Montessori School is definitely overrated and and uses its brand name to attract parents.In fact, both of my kids were there last year (infant and then toddler) and I can tell you that the infant room is not managed properly:Babies were sleeping in their car seats, accidents not reported properly, management is not present.While the price is very expensive (the most expensive in the area: between $1,500 and $1,700), it doesn't include lunch and snacks and several request to bring food or supplies are made on a monthly basis.Also the head of school is probably not experienced enough to manage the school. In fact, she seems overwhelmed with everything which happens in the school (she closes the school all the time rather than thinking through the issues). Staffs called themselves teachers while they take naps on the floor or look at their email all day.I left gateway few months ago and would definitely not recommend. There is cheaper and better service quality around in troy or royal oak. To avoid!!

My son attended this school from the time he was 18 months old until he turned 5. All the teachers take personal interest in their students welfare. I tell all of our friends what a great school this is. Our son has some special needs and they were able to address them and he excelled in their care. I could not stress enough what a great school this is. On our first visit to evaluate the school we were convinced they drugged the kids because they were so well mannered. They were sitting at their assigned desk working on individual projects with some soft music playing in the background. When our son turned 2 he was setting his own place at the table and then cleaning up after he was done. He would take his dirty dishes to the sink and put his placemat away and then push his chair in. This continued at home. Even with developmental delay, he learned so much. He counts to 100 in English, up to 20 in Spanish, and to 20 in German. He learned many words in Spanish and he loves their music class. I wish he could stay there until he graduates from college. :-)

My son (4) attends Gateway and really enjoys his school, teachers and classmates. in two years he has developed strong bonds with both his teachers and classmates while learning practical life skills, math, writing, music and Spanish. We'll be sending my daughter here (2) this fall. The kids get a little slice of city life and walk through town when weather permits. If I could change anything, it would be nice if the school were larger - but it's right downtown, so it's size is understandable. Great school!
