I am looking at all of the negative reviews and it's as if my 3 children attended a different school. St Rose provided opportunities for students that they would not have found in some of the overly competitive schools. The size of the school and the amount of opportunities to be involved (not just sports) allows each student to have their dreams still within reach. Something not always found in the larger competitive schools. My oldest was a cheerleader, my middle played basketball and was on the dance team and my youngest is there now and plays basketball, baseball, is a member of the National Honor society and is taking mostly honors or AP classes! Is there room for improvement in some areas of education ... Yes but that exists no matter what school you choose. After having two children graduate from St Rose the most accolades I can give to the school is the way they prepare their students for College! I've spoken with numerous friends whose children attend various public and private schools and they all agree!! The process begins as a junior with a class parent meeting that lasts about 1.5 hrs. You are told exactly what to expect from the application process and what part they will play in preparing the students. The application essay is written and reviewed and edited in English class. The guidance counselor then has a meeting with your child and you to inform you of the "safety, target and reach" schools your child -along with their guidance counselor- have chosen as best options. The application process is literally drilled into them as far as deadlines. My husband and I were so hands off and it all took place seamlessly with two children accepted at almost every school they applied to and both chose a university in the Big Ten!I watched as parents from other schools scrambled to get deposits in, not know where to go for information and stress about the application process itself. I'm not saying we weren't involved in the process I'm just saying the school has a reputation for 100% acceptance into a 4 year accredited university and I see why!! On an academic note.... You get out what you put in. My children worked hard to achieve their National Honor Society status. Were they challenged in all areas?Maybe not. But they were challenged ...and succeeded... In feeling and being valued, nurtured, educated and protected. That to me matters more.

Saint Rose was a mediocre high school experience. There definitely isn't enough focus on the arts. I was really disappointed with the quality of the theater program and other extracurricular activities. The school makes it seem like there are a lot of clubs, but most of them are a joke. The academics are average as well. It really depends on the teacher. The Math department is still horrendous.The athletics program is good- it's the only thing this school cares about. The administration is crazy and the rules were ridiculous. I did enjoy my years at St. Rose because I made some good friends. Most of the students are nice to one another, but many students that come from the wealthier, small towns are super cliquey. It's a really small school which is nice because everyone knew each other.

education wise, not so bad as long as children are in honors and AP classes. Classes below that level generally aren't very challenging. They have the absolute worst math department I've ever seen. Since I've graduated a few years ago, I found many of the teachers I had left, unfortunately some were the best so I'm not entirely sure how to rate the school as of right now. My younger sibling goes there now and from what I hear at home, my sibling's experience isn't that much better than mine. My best experience at St. Rose was my guidance counselor. Take that as you will. As far as the students go, from which I hear this hasn't changed much, a lot of them are snobby and rude. The fact it's called "Saint Rumors" isn't necessarily inaccurate. It's so small everyone knows everyone else's business. I understand administration means well, but some of the rules are just absolutely absurd. Let's just say, I thew my "alumni weekend" flyer straight in the garbage. The friends I kept from high school are great, but I have absolutely no desire to go back there.

St Rose is a complete circus show.. Despite having some amazing teachers that are incredibly well-versed in their topic matter, the administration winds up bringing the whole experience down horrifically. Religion winds up being the focal point, and education is only a supplement to this. If you even think of a a differing viewpoint, most teachers will look down on you and grade you accordingly, even if you put work into expressing your differing opinion. 0/10 would not recommend.

My son in his 2nd year and loves St. Rose. Sister Cathy is a positive roll model for the teachers as well as the students. My son is challenged by honor classes and works hard to maintain an A average. He is involved in extracurricular activities and enjoys his time spent in and out of school I have no doubt that he will be well prepared to enter college and that the guidance department will live up to my expectations.

Saint Rose High School was the single worst educational experience in my lifetime. It was a total nightmare and the Catholic brainwashing was horrendous. The nuns were sadistic and narrow-minded. The lay teachers were intellectually deficient. I only wish I knew then what I know now because I would have informed my parents of their terrible decision to send me there. I should have gone to the Peddie School in Hightstown. I succeeded in spite of Saint Rose, and actually graduated with a B.A. from the University of San Diego. This school should be closed down. Absolutely horrible experience. School is outdated and many of the teachers are not affective. Many of the teachers, administrators and coaches play favorites. Students of parents who contribute to the school get special treatment and awards.

I sent 2 of my 5 children to St Rose and I think the school was not a good choice. I am glad I found out in time! My children were always A students however their grades started to drop and I knew they were not happy with the quality of education they were getting. After making the change to another school, my children started to thrive again and I am so happy that they are getting top grades again and are finally happy with the school they are attending. St Rose does not enjoy the reputation it once did. In my opinion, carefully weigh all the options and listen to your children. It can make all the difference in the world!
