We had an excellent experience with the teachers, administration and child study team. Our learning disabled student just graduated on grade level with his peers and will be attending High School in similar classes. The Child Study Team was fantastic and always very helpful

My children have had a wonderful experience at Belmar Elementary. It is a nice small community-oriented school. The teachers and staff are all very involved with the children and truly care about the kids.

Don't let this rating scare you away! I am a high school teacher and my 2 children attend BEM. They absolutely LOVE going to school! In the 3 years they've been there, they have had the greatest teachers, administration and the nicest office staff I've ever encountered! Their reading and writing program is very effective and fun. The school and PTO frequently plan fun activities that help make our town a tight knit community. Add to that the FREE, FANTASTIC PreK program and BEM is a real winner :) We are so happy we chose Belmar for our family.

Great teachers, great principal. We moved from Chatham NJ where we lived for 12 years and my children are doing better in Belmar. My kids went from hating school and reading to loving school and reading daily and loving it. I am so very happy with this school district.

If my research of this school was based only on the average standardized test scores, I'd probably choose another community in which to live. Luckily, I know the full picture. This school has prepared my three children academically, morally and socially. The teachers are excellent and staff is approachable and professional. The diverse community prepares the children for the real world. For a small school we have a band, thriving sports teams and auditorium for plays and shows. We rank high technologically. Our standardized test scores are low considering how great our teachers are and how advanced most of our students are. This is due to the English as second language students, who become fluent early on, but still have trouble taking tests in English. My children read on their own by the end of their kindergarten year, and are ahead of most other schools in Math throughout their K - 8 years at Belmar Elementary School. Belmar Elementary School is an excellent education.
