I love Savage! I made the choice of having my kids go to Savage instead of the school they were supposed to go to and I'm glad I made that choice because I couldn't be happier with the school. Mrs. Press the principal is amazing. She started a girls empowerment where 4th and 5th grade girls have the opportunity to go to camp with her and other teachers one week out of the summer. That's pretty amazing to me how a principal can care that much to take time out of her summer to bring these girls together.

Savage is a great school. The principal is understanding of student's who have issues or challenges, and her door is always open to students and parents alike. They have a great teaching and support staff.

The school is one of the most friendly, supportive, and energetic schools I've ever seen. Teachers go out of their way to make sure that students have the best experience possible. THIS is thee school to be at. Come join us!

This is a great school! The staff is friendly, supportive, and encouraging. I couldn't say anything negative about this school. They work hard to prevent bullying and always have a positive outlook for the future of all of their students.

My daughter has been at Savage for 2 years, she loves it! And so do I. The teachers are great, Mrs Villa is wonderful! They make it fun, so the kids want to come back and learn more. The PTO is fabulous, they support the teachers and come up with creative activities for the kids during school and after.

The school environment is great - Mrs. Villa gives each parent her undivided attention no matter how busy she might be. Parents always feel welcome and the teachers are wonderful. The one word I can use is "APPROACHABLE" - this is huge for us because my husband and I have full time jobs and the fact that I can call, email or walk-in with a concern and it is addressed ASAP means a lot to me. My son will now be in Grade 4 and I am excited that my daughter will be starting Kindergarten at Savage in the coming school year.

There are so many wonderful qualities about Savage! I love the passion of the principal and the staff at the school. Where else are you going to find a principal saying good morning to the kids as they walk in for the morning, calling each one out by name, or when there was a power outage and the principal and school Secretary know the parents as they came in to pick up their kids...and what classroom they were in. AMAZING! I will be honest and say I was nervous to send my daughter to Belleville schools and was trying to get her into Plymouth Canton schools, purely based on reputation and not experience. That didn't work out and I couldn't be more happy! My daughter has had the most wonderful teachers, experiences, and educational growth, that I KNOW 100% she would not have gotten in Plymouth Canton or any other school in the state or surrounding states. The PTO is so involved at the school and have done so many wonderful things for the parents, school building, students, and staff. As a parent, I see this particular school as a blessing. What a piece of mind it is that these wonderful people love what they do and truly care for my daughter and the rest of our children.

Savage is an AMAZING school with the best principal and teachers in the area. Mrs. Villa is incredible--an excellent leader. The teachers are all very good and the gifted and talented program is the best in the area--it needs to be publicized more as it is the highlight of Van Buren Public Schools. The specials teachers are all excellent and the support staff very helpful. The PTO is strong--has won awards-- and the school will soon be getting new playground equipment courtesy of the PTO. There are monthly family fun activities and frequent curriculum nights. There are so many cool activities going on--little society, wax museum, etc. If you are looking for schools in the Western Wayne-Eastern Washtenaw area this is your best elementary school out there.

This school, with the help of the district, does little to nothing to assist my autistic child. The majority of the staff is arrogant and patronizing. With only 2 weeks left in the school year the school social worker, who my son meets with due to issues interacting with others in group settings, tells me that all year long he has been working with my child one on one because Ethan "gets anxious while in group sessions" and that working with Ethan one on one is "just easier" Wow, clearly another staffer who took the job because he likes his summers off.

Savage Elementary is exceptional. The principle knows the kids names. Yep, in the halls she say hello to them by name. The teachers expectations of their students is high & the kids respond well. There is also very high parental involvement that just makes the overall experience an excellent one.

I love this school! I have two daughters and they love Savage Elementary. They have great teachers and the principal Ms. Villa is the best! They have really turned this school and this district around in the past few years. My kids are college bound kids and we are staying in Van Buren Public Schools.

Savage School is awesome. I moved my sons from a charter school to Savage. I was nervous about it, but have been so happy with Savage. The staff is very caring. The principal also goes out of her way to make every student and family feel special. I am so glad we made the choice to come to this school.

I pulled my children out two years ago because the school was so awful. My kids academic scores dropped dramatically and my youngest was harrassed with teached approval. A few good teachers in the higher grades are the only reason this school gets a 2. My youngest still has emotional issues with his peers. He has mild ADD. He had minor issues with talking and daydreaming. The teacher wanted to drug him. She targeted him and two other ADD boys. She had all the students reporting the slightest problem to her. He was constantly harrassed by the other children. I found out because I visited the classroom to help and some of the kids bragged about "helping" him. He spent most of the day in isolation. When I tried to talk to talk to the principal she got upset with me and told me that this was one of her best teachers and my kid was a problem child and I was a bad parent. My mother was a k-3rd teacher for 30 years and I have been a PTA president, worker, and classroom volunteer for 15 years... oh and my older children who also have undrugged ADD were star pupils and principal award winners that year... That was the new principal's first year and my last.
