The staff at Edgemont is amazing. All my sons 5 years there we only had 1 teacher that didn't compare to the others. They keep parents involved. I can't say enough. Now the newest principle isn't seen as much as the last one but my son said they seen her a lot so I guess that is what matters. The last principle was always around engaged with students and parents but he moved to the middle school. It's a shame too the students at edgemont loved him. The teachers are just great with the kids and the support staff is top notch. I honestly couldn't of asked for better people for my son to see on a daily basis

My children were forced into this school as a result of redistricting 2 years ago. I cannot under stand why the school(Haggerty) with that was performing better was closed and this school was allowed to stay open. There was nothing special about this school (programs). There was no since of family and it was almost spring before I figured out who the principal was. Whereas, there was no doubt about who ran my kids previous school. We have lived in Van Buren for 10 years now and I have watched the school ratings on this website fall substantially it's really sad and I think its time for new leadership. I gave the school 2 stars because it was clean and the two teachers my kids had were very nice and caring.

was very pleased to have my 3 granddaugters enter mid year, and they were treated as if they have been students there forever. Great staff, the teachers were exceptional. Every request we made to principal, Mrs Mida was always addressed and usually resolved promptly. It was a good experience for the girls.

my three children have been in van buren public school system for the last five years. This year I am very upset by the new curriculum they have adopted this school year it is very upsetting to think the school board thinks that our k-3 just need to learn the basic essentials what happened to math science social studies and english. Who gives the school board the right to use our children as guinny pigs to this new curriculum. They have invested our tax payers mony in this curriculum that none of us as parents even new about. I will not let my children fail, my children will be competing with chineese japan india and we are already falling short to them. I will be driving my kids to a new district next year I suggest everyone else do the same run far from van buren school district if you care about your childs future.
