My daughter was touched inappropriately by a boy in her class, the school gaslighted me about how they would handle things. Come to find out not all teachers are on board with keeping him away from her, and after messaging multiple parties at the school I have gotten no response. If you want your child to be in an unsafe environment send them here.

I have to move my son from this school in the middle of 3rd grade, the teacher was horrible as my son was not an American, he is been treated quite unfairly. School staff and principal were nice but I have never seen such a class teacher.

My nice attended classes in this school, I always went to see her in recitals and art classes. I like the classrooms and the big parents participation! The cultural diversity is amazing! Kids learn how to interact with other cultures and respect them!

Long term Intel Employee that chose to purchase a house because McKinley Elementary school was in it's boundary. This is the most diverse school in Beaverton, and not just one or two cultures, but a multitude. Not just one or two religions, but many. Not just 10 languages, but closer to 30. The administration and staff are amazing. A lot of students come and go at the school because of nearby corporate housing and apartments, and this impacts test scores. There are also a lot of lower socio-economic factors at the school- which makes volunteering and I believe teaching there very rewarding. If you want your kids to grow up surrounded by wealthy, over-indulged children of large corporation employees- choose one north of Hwy26. If you want your kids to learn about the world, language, culture, and the true daily geography of the world, choose McKinley.

This school is Great. We have been here for going on 5 years. The district wanted to change my special needs son to a different school and we fought to keep him here. The staff and teachers are wonderful and the principal is so easy to work with. There are so many different cultures represented among the students; it's amazing. The school really embraces cultural differences and understands that kids are curious thinkers. The special ed program is fairly new in this school and could use a little work, but overall we as a family have really enjoyed our time here. We now have 2 kids attending McKinley and we plan to see them both through from there first bell ring as a kindergartner to there last as a graduating 5th grader.

This school is incredible unorganized!!!! My kinder started this year and like most parents we decided to drive him. when we arrived they had the children line up out side in front of the school doors these lines were not class specific just all kinders, when they finaly let the kids in (remember children who have never been to school before) they were everywhere and lots of children were lost I found a boy crying and when I asked if he needed help he said "where is my teacher" I was confused on where these children were supposed to go, I cant imagine how a 5yr old on an over whelming day such as the first day of school felt. This was handled poorly. Also school events are handled the same way no direction or organization. once my child was almost an hour late from school I called the school and the receptionist simply told me the bus will leave shortly its running behind, when my son finally came in the door he was crying when I asked him why he told me his bus was rear ended by another bus, and the school apparently didn't think this was worth telling me??? This school is terrible!!!

McKinley has top-notch teachers and committed staff. There are challenges because of low parent involvement and the well-publicized class size issues in Beaverton School District as a whole, but McKinley does excellent work with what they are given. My daughter has attended for 3 years and has excelled. She loves her teachers and staff and they take the time to know her. I've been increasingly involved and find it more rewarding each year. The parents that are involved are so dedicated and welcoming to new families. This school cares about the entire family and seeks to create a community of support for all aspects of student life. Get inovolved in your child's school! It enriches your child's experience, improves the experience for other students and adds so much to your own life. Other schools have a bigger PT organizational budget, but McKinley has heart.
