Pretty good, been a student for 2 years now and I have to say, most of these reviews from parents are mostly false by now. The safety isn't the best compared to everything else, but the teachers will always show up ready to teach you.

It depends on the person but in my experience the football team is terrible and there are some really bad teachers (global studies). The only good thing about this school really is the automotive and woodworking programs, the automotive program is the best in the state, and the woodworking program has a great teacher.

If you are looking for a good gaslighting, then you and your teens have come to the right place. After some time experiencing such an education environment and considering whether to share my thoughts, I've concluded that maybe I could be helpful by just being candid.I will say that there are some pretty awesome teachers in the minority. My teens have been greatly influenced by their emotional intelligence and willingness to help teens where they are. There are also middle of the road teachers in the majority. I have encouraged my teens to be patient because this schooling paradigm is unprecedented and everyone is struggling even the teachers. Then there are substantial minority of teachers who are entirely less effective, can't manage a loud group of teens, neglects quiet teens and become impatient with special needs students. Again I encourage patience because this is life and it takes all kinds of people to make a world. Everyone now and then, we will have to confront these issues to better ourselves as teachers and parents. It's uncomfortable, but we can do it...we hope.I was in the unfortunate position to reach out to the administration of Aloha High and this where the gaslighting begins. Let me tell you they are excellent listeners...when you can get a hold of them. They also agree, whole heartedly with your feelings, share anecdotal stories and evidence that proves "we are in this together." You may then write a plan of action between your teen, the teachers and the Aloha High administration, but if the problem is too complex the ghosting begins.Further into the year my teens became more discontented as they witnessed a degree of neglect and disconnect amongst the teens, teachers and administration. However, they were all forced to watch the school principal's morning announcements about how supportive the staff were of everyone. One of my teens was eventually so distraught after months of what they considered mockery, that they showed me a music video to convey how they felt (Principal by Melanie Martinez). To be honest, I am not the activist type who can take on the subtle nuances of a defunct school. I can only tell you my experience (at a very high level). I just think that how they present themselves is not how they truly are. If you are in this school or moving in, then good luck to you. I hope you are better than me at defending yourself and/or the quiet majority.

I have had 5 children attend Aloha over the last 15 years and have loved this school. You find the negative if you look for it, but this school offers the most AP classes of any in the state, encourages the students to succeed and challenge themselves and is much more supportive and inclusive than the neighboring schools. If you want a challenging education, you can find it at Aloha. Sports are about doing your best and not just being the best. Arts and music are appreciated and supported too. We have loyal and supportive teachers and parent groups.

Aloha is a superb school. A solid range of academic along with unusual classes outside academics like woodworking, art, and automotive. They even have an automotive team which has travelled the world. As a parent, we highly value the experience my son had at Aloha.

People with disabilities are never included with anything. They show disrepect and Mr. Yarnell, who's leaving with the class of 2018, NEVER talked about inclusion...

Exceptional feedback was provided to me regarding my questions to administration about process of signing up for AP coursework. Atmosphere received from teachers and administration is considered warm, inviting, respectful yet they display ample degree of high standard expectations of their students.

I'm currently a Sophomore at Aloha. While it is really sad that you can still find drugs/alcohol at school, you can find it at ANY school if you look hard enough. Yes, I have heard of people using, but have never seen it first-hand. Why? Because I don't look into joining in on it. The people who are giving bad safety reviews are the ones trying to find trouble or find bad influences. I feel totally safe at Aloha and I love the environment. I am learning and also having fun at the same time. Their spirit is high. I am very thankful to be there. I went to Southridge High last year, and while it is considered one of the better schools in the area, I really disliked it so I transfered. The teachers at Southridge were unmotivated and the students were "checked out." It is extremely hard to find friends at Southridge because everyone sticks to themselves or their established friends. It's like no one wants to be there. The vibe of that school is very dull while Aloha feels like a home. So often a person's experience is what he/she puts into it. That's true at Aloha. If I personally had to rate the school I would give it an 8/10. I honestly don't understand why the ratings are so low. The education is great. The teachers are motivated. The sports and music programs are as good as anywhere. I'm hoping to keep my inter-district transfer and graduate from Aloha.

My son is adhd and on a 504 plan. The school let's kids skip class and go across the street to learn how to smoke cigarettes. They don't care if the kids are in class and some are hiding behind the school selling drugs and smoking. I have contained to the principal and counselor. The school doesn't monitor the computer activities from students and some are selling drugs using laps provided by the school district and no lock out of adult sites. The students are on Facebook and snap chat and more. The school has not checked the history of the laptops. Worst school ever.

This has been the best school for my 2013 Graduate. My 14 year old will be a freshman this fall, and my 11 year old will follow suit in a few years.

I disagree with your 5/10 rating putting Aloha behind Beaverton and Sunset. Aloha has the best AP classes in the whole district. The staff, students, and the community are wonderful. Aloha is really invested in our kids future. There aren't scary gangs or lots of drugs either as some people think. Its a great school.
