I couldn't have asked for a better school with our two kids.

Large number of students in classrooms. Not enough structure, very chaotic flexible seating environment.

I'm so pleased that our house is located in the Grace McWayne Elementary School boundaries! The teachers are amazing, the administrators are fantastic, and the PTO is top notch. Lots of activities for families throughout the year: Walkathon, holiday bazaar, movie night, Family Fun Fair, a dad's group (dads of awesome students); I could go on and on!

We moved from the city to accept a job offered to me in Batavia/Geneva area. I never heard or knew anything about Batavia and surrounding area, let alone the schools here. I took a chance by enrolling my daughter into Grace McWayne and it's been one of best decisions I've made since moving here. (Although anything is better than CPS) But, honestly, I'm very pleased with the teachers, their method of teaching (but not a fan of common core), the principal, the secretaries, lunch/recess ladies, and even the custodians. Probably my only negative is the lack of cultural diversity, but I understand this is only a product of where we moved. We are still getting accustomed to the huge change, but my daughter is very happy, she scores average to above average on state standards, and has a fond interest in all of her special classes. Grace McWayne is highly recommended.

Just like a parent in an older review, one of the reasons we bought our home in a certain area of Geneva, was because of this school, and indeed we made the right choice. Staff is making long-lasting, positive impressions on the children, making them better all-round persons.

Excellent school with great parent and teacher involvement - the principal Mr. Modaff even gets to have dads involved! Our daughter went there for 3 years - she absolutely loves it there and is now very sad we are moving, as she's leaving behind a school she really loves and where she learns great things. The teachers are very caring and pay attention to each individual child's needs - I witnessed this on a few occasions that I was lucky enough to help out in classrooms.

The special education teacher is just plain awful. She is difficult to work with and appears to be a bully.
