I have had 2 students graduate from BHS. One is now a college graduate with a great job and the other is doing well and will be a senior in college next year. I feel that both my students were well prepared with the transition to a four year university and were set up for success. We are fortunate to be apart of this awesome school district.

We've had students in this school district for over 10 years, ranging from elementary to high school age, and have been very pleased. So thankful to live in a community that supports it's students to the fullest.

Horrible. So many students threaten others. Teachers are rude, and have friends to support them. And kids bully each other. They are rude and disrespectful. I don't know how anyone likes this schools. Don't let the high SAT scores fool you. Avoid this place.

This school cares more about stats, test scores, and impressions. Control that, and you can discredit anyone's criticism and accuse them of being a grumbler or complainer who jumps to conclusions. They do not prepare most students for college like they claim. Only those students already at the top of their game and already possess college level skills will say differently, and so will their parents, because they get all the attention and advantages in both the classrooms and the school. There are a huge number of students with great potential at this high school that aren't learning or scoring quite as high as they are capable of if they had more devoted attention, but because they are performing average or good enough, they fall through the cracks. They are not taught the required college skills at all. Their grades only reflect that they haven't mastered self-learning and self-direction, not what they are capable of learning. In addition, there is no way to have complaints resolved. Anyone you have to report to a superior is above reproach. When you go to the very top, you are told that you have to deal directly with the one you are having a problem with even thought you tell them you already have. There is nothing else you can do because parents are always treated like hostiles, no matter what the disagreement is. Staff will quickly try to cover up what they did wrong, and amass support from other staff to discredit what a student reports or the parent. This kind of oversight prevents this high school from actually becoming what they purport they are because it keeps bad employees in place where they shouldn't be.

Batavia has the very best high school! As a high school teacher (from another district) I feel the administration and teachers at Batavia go above and beyond to make each student's experience the very best it can be. I LOVE the block scheduling. It allows students to actually learn and it allows students to really focus on four classes at a time. Our daughter is flourishing here. I am so glad we picked Batavia 10 years ago!

I'm currently a student at BHS and I feel that the curriculum itself is ok. The main thing I have problems with are the the school bathrooms. The bathrooms in the school are in total disrepair, but the janitors don't seem to try to even fix it. The only thing they try to fix is people writing on the bathroom walls and people peeing and pooping on the floor. Oh yeah. I forgot to mention that people do that in our school. The school just dumped a bunch of money towards improving the hallways of the school, but not trying to fix the bathrooms when they're needed to be fixed.

Teachers and administrators show favoritism towards athletes, especially football players, while students in the arts or who aren't in extra-curriculars fall to the wayside. They don't try to work with people who have behavioral issues, they stick them in an isolated room all day and basically ignore them. All they care about is test scores, they're not too concerned about if the students are actually retaining the information or if they're actually learning things that are substantial and may help them in the future.

Unfortunately, the students never see their counselors so it is very difficult to get college help. Very rude office staff. They should be welcoming to students and parents!

Batavia High School is the gem of the Fox Valley. Most Western suburbanites seek out the Naperville school districts when looking for a new community, but this top rated school, just a notch under Dist# 204 is a terrific option (with less congestion and traffic when you learn to avoid Randall Road). Although there is a huge focus on sports, the music program is second to none and the staff support a college readiness agenda. The band/orchestra program is very impressive. Students are on a block schedule and are expected to immerse themselves in coursework, think and work independently, be responsible for their own future. Both the brightest who will be well prepared for college, and those who prefer a non-college path have challenging course options. I have one son who is still attending BHS. I wish we would have moved here sooner for my older sons to get the benefit of all four years in this great learning environment. As a mother, home-owner and a Realtor I recommend this community for the school district. Well worth the taxes.

This school is the worst school in the world! Bullies try to get good kids in trouble, even though those kids didn't do anything at all! Even though there is no proof that the kid did anything that kid got suspended.

I have found BHS to be a great school. The continue improvement in their teaching and curriculum offerings have made it one of the top rated high schools in Kane County.

This school has some good teachers, but has a very poor record in teaching students with disabilities (4th year of academic warning status with the state for its large achievement gap). No encouragement to take the PSAT or early career planning for gifted sophomores. Administrative leadership is non-existent. If you are relocating here look at Naperville or St. Charles High schools.

Many new additions, as said below. one does not have to be above average o succeed, they only need to try, math department goes up to Calculus 2, and AP Calculus 1; a math class is completed every half year (semester, students can take either 1 or 2 math classes a year (or not at all, if math requirements are meet), as a freshman you can only take one. A very large amount of classes are offered alongside the standard academics, there are currently 6 general use computer labs, over 4 carts of about 25 laptops (class sizes vary), a cart of laptops in the shop, and a cart of the districts best laptops (better than the techies) for the engineering programs. great school with lots to offer for all kinds of students; science, engineering, math, athletic, dance, arts, music, photography, 3 languages (Spanish, French, Latin).
