This school is very student centric. The principal and teachers do everything in their power to support all students regardless of race or ethnicity. The parent that gave this school only 1 star may have had a bad experience but the vast majority of parents appreciate the hard work and dedication of the faculty and staff. I highly recommend this school to any parent moving into the district..

Pick any other elementary school in Batavia and you will be much better off. This school is being run into the ground by the principal. Behavior is so bad that learning is severely disrupted. We moved out of this school because the teachers' hands are tied by terrible principal policies & leadership, which has left both learning & student safety in jeopardy. There are many great teachers at this school, but, unfortunately, the school environment is reflected in the student learning & test scores.

Can not say enough good things about JBN. It is the all American Classic Elementary School. Each child is encouraged and developed. I have had three children go through with VERY different strengths. We moved here when our oldest was in kindergarten. She was in the 5% for reading. She felt bad about herself. The teachers encouraged her and she was up to speed in no time. I owe this school a great deal. So thankful!

We moved to get into Batavia School District, and ended up buying a home that goes to JB Nelson. We could not be happier. Our son adjusted great, has made great friends. The parent involvement at this school is outstanding. The teachers are wonderful and caring. We are SO happy with this school!!

We moved to JB Nelson from a top school district in the Chicago suburbs. The teachers at JB Nelson are excellent. Amy Harris is one of three 1st Grade teachers (all of whom are very good) and she is such a smart, caring and nurturing teacher. We are really pleased with JB!
