My son has attended the Montessori Academy for two peaceful, productive years. First preschool and currently first grade (altogether skipping kindergarten). He has thrived in his social and emotional experiences and the learning environment has complemented his learning style. He has been encouraged to pursue his interests and does so independently. He is allowed to learn as much as he wants, on his own, while given the proper guidance to move forward. At age 6 he is an avid and independent reader and is learning division. We are extremely happy with our choice of school.

I have two boys attending school here, one in the primary classroom (pre-schoool) and the other just started in the elementary room. I am consistently amazed at how much my children have learned since starting in a Montessori classroom. Just the other day, my 3 year old explained to me what an odd number was and then proceeded to give me several examples of odd numbers. My first grader is reading and can multiply and divide without much effort. The tools in the classroom and the focus on academic mastery create an incredible learning environment!

Montessori has been great for my daughter. She loves to learn and is excited everyday for school. She will go through 8th grade and we are so happy this gem of a school is here!

Disappointing at best-that is all that I can say after witnessing first hand my child's lack of progress or nurtured growth in one year of attendance. Poor communication on behalf of teachers and poor curriculum left my children unprepared for moving on to kindergarden.

Montessori Academy is a wonderful school. We''re thoroughly happy our child is a student there. Their campus is beautiful and allows for daily interaction with nature and space to play outside. There are even organic gardens that the children tend! A magical place. We feel that our child is nurtured in all aspects of living - physically, intellectually, spiritually, socially - at Montessori Academy. The staff are caring and accessible. The enrichment programs offered at MA are varied and interesting. We love it there.

Montessori Academy stood out as great school because of its philosophy and capable staff. Over the past two years we have seen the effects of a positive school experience for our son. The facility is well maintained and the grounds are a perfect learning environment to study the natural world. Go see for yourself the kids are happy and learning!

We love the atmosphere the Batavia Montessori offers. My children have learned how to be confident and independent leaders in just a short time. They absolutely love the beautiful nature hikes and have learned many things about "real life" that I can not teach at home.

This school is phenomenal! You can read the other ratings for more details, as I wish to share a brief story. We moved our daughter here for several reasons; she was at the point of absolutely hating school by the 6th grade and suffering physically. I watched her cheerful love of everything educational die over some years in her old school system. It took a few months adjustment time here, but I recently witnessed and overheard a great reward. A family friend (adult) asked my daughter if she liked this school, and she replied instantly "Yes!" With a big smile on her face. She hasn't responded positively about school in a long time, and the academics here for her grade level are top notch!

If you are looking for someplace to escape the cookie cutter feeling look no further. My child enjoys freedom to learn at her own pace and her own interest level and to express herself in a positive manner. I can't imagine sending her anywhere else.

As a parent who works in the education setting I am thoroughly impressed with the connection and compassion the staff have with my son. Although he is only going to be 5, the foundation of his educational experience has been warm and allowed for him to develop and grow in a manner that fosters true learning and feeling safe to be himself. My son continues to grow into a curious and kind little boy who enjoys school each and every day.

I love this school! My son has gone here since he was in preschool and is now in the 4th grade. My daughter has been attending from preschool and is now in kindergarten. The staff really runs the school the way all teachers and schools should - hands-on, multi-faceted with peers helping peers. The campus is amazing too - backs to the river for nature walks, etc. The environment really helps children develop and reach their potential while actually enjoying the learning process.
