I had my child at 4Points Academy for several years. It is a small private school. The school is now online because of COVID. I was a bit taken a back at reading the review by the other reviewer and I am sad that they expressed such negativity. In any event our experience was very positive. The school offers a rigorous curriculum which included electives in Spanish and Mandarin. The school has never indicated that it was accredited, and the handbook is available to parents. The concept worked for us. It was a blended model, which means that they leveraged online robust and tested curriculum and live teacher instruction. The class sizes were very small with the middle school group having about 5 or so kids on average. The program is also based on differentiated instruction. As such, students that needed more challenging material including above grade level work would be assigned their unique pathway. Students that needed more assistance (whether male or female would have tailored instruction for their learning level. Parents were provided with almost weekly updates. In addition, parents had the opportunity to request meetings with the teachers or administrators at any time. The school was built around the 4C's - Compassion, Confidence, Courage and Commitment. Projects and activities were built around these elements to truly enable the kids to find their purpose and be compassionate with others. Their homework policy was based on the individual students. For students that needed additional assistance, additional work would be assigned so they could keep on track. The goal of the program is for the kids to truly understand their curriculum. It means not just letting the kids move ahead even if they failed a unit. It means working with them so they can increase their understanding. Some may find that too much, but the program really aims to promote mastery of subject matter. When the school went online in March, 2020, the school did a great job of seamless integration. It did require the administration to participate in the online classes to ensure that there were no technology problems, and that the students were keeping on track. Not all students can work effectively online. Some flourished with the ability to continue with their curriculum and live teacher interaction. Others found it difficult to stay focused and keep on target.

On a scale of 1-10, 3. It was a huge waste of money & time. Our child learned very little for the amount of tuition paid. We had to constantly watch, so we could barely get any work done ourselves. It was crazy. We couldn't stay.
