Teachers believe everything the other students say even if it’s lie and I think it’s racism it depends on if they like the students or not. My student came home once and the teachers made fun of her in front of the class and said her glasses was fake and to take them off when they were descriptive by a doctor. We told the school many times but they don’t do anything. Also, students bully other students most of the time and this doesn’t happened once or twice it happens all the time. I do not recommend.

This school is a joke. I am convinced it is where burned out teachers go to give up. Half of the teachers need a return to school themselves. I do not believe this school has any child in their best interest. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE.

The 1 out of 10 says it all. My daughter went to homeschool this year. She is two grade levels behind in math, and a grade level behind in every other subject. This school does not teach the children academics nor give teachers the support they need to teach children. I tell everyone to send their kids to other schools.

My daughter has had a good experience here overall. The classes are big and parent teacher communication could be better but the teachers are hardworking and she has learned a lot. She gets special education services for reading and I have been happy with that. They work hard and she has made a lot of growth. She really likes her classroom teacher to.

I think the 1 out 10 'Great Schools' rating for this school says everything about it. I can count about five teachers who are great and the rest, should go back to school themselves and learn how to teach. The Special Education programs in Aurora alone are a complete joke. I think that the Administration should be fired all the way to the top. There are teachers who are trying really hard, but this school and the Aurora District needs an overhaul. Note to the Aurora School Administration: Try learning and modeling after other successful districts and put some 'hopeful' lessons learned into action.

I cannot say enough great things about Jewell Elementary! My son is a handful, to say the least, and I believe so many other schools would have given up on him a long time ago and just written him off as a bad kid, but not here. We are truly blessed to have such a wonderful and dedicated team of teachers and administration, who really do care a great deal about their students and finding ways to make their time spend at Jewell, the best possible! As a note to other Jewell parents, please be actively involved in your child's education. If you have questions or concerns you would like to address with the school, do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the administration team. I trust you will be amazed at the amount of support you will receive, but it's your job to make that first step.

I had a student in second grade this year, prior to this school my son did very well in school but when he came here he was targeted by the teacher who he had for two years now and continued to give him disciplinary marks far more often than other students who were involved in the incidents he was marked for. He was bullied by the teaching staff with negative comments on his school work when positive comments would have been more appropriate. Example... My son missed one problem out of 26 on an assignment, then drew a picture on the back when finished. The comment on the paper read:" You should spend your time reviewing your answers instead of drawing. Give yourself a mark for not following school rules." This is such a cup is empty attitude. A more positive tone which would have been more appropriate might have been : Great work!! and nice picture, lets try for a 100% next time!! I am pulling my student from this school and have not plans to have him return two years of this is enough, I hope some day they will get a more professional staff here, until then all of my kids are going out of district.
